While I was listening to muzak I got dressed, washed my hands and face - no hot water but I usually wash my face with cold so not a problem, combed my hair, cleaned my teeth, and tmi coming up, made an emergency visit to the loo. Turns out carrot and coriander soup doesn't like me either. Don't think the sudden burst of anxiety helped though.
I was back downstairs when my call was answered. By a grumpy girl - probably having a manic Monday morning but not my fault. Anyhoo problem reported. No heating or hot water. Someone will be here within 24 hours. That's my visit to Mr Al postponed then.
And the rose coloured glasses / blinkers come off and I see the house as it is. Granted it's less crammed with stuff than it was but.... oh dear. 😳 😱 Let that suffice.
And breathe. And breathe.
Second brew was where I was at before I was so coldly interrupted.

Probably the kick up the derriere that I required actually. But who wants kicking on a Monday morning.

I'm here again, good morning everyone. Last week was (not) fun. Monday was fine, Tuesday I woke with, my worst ever, bout of vertigo. I've suffered with it since my late twenties, many years ago, once every few years. All day Tuesday and Wednesday I could not move without being sick. Even just turning my head started it off. Thursday and Friday, I stopped being sick, but was still too dizzy to walk safely. Daytime TV is so boring! By Saturday I was ok. Hope I don't get it again for a long while!
Over the weekend DD1 and I cleared and sorted the kitchen cupboards. Threw away all the really old stuff! Moved everything off the worktops and found homes for most of it. Listed lots of spare glasses, mugs, plastic tubs, etc on free group. The kitchen is now, (almost), beautiful.
Today I'm going to write a meal plan for the rest of October, use up some of the stuff in the freezers.
Empty the understairs cupboard. It's full of toys. Sort them and rehome them, either elsewhere in the house or on free site. Then put all the playmobil in there. At the moment it's in front of a radiator, not the best place, and our great niece and great nephews are meant to be coming next weekend, aged 1, 2 and 3. Don't want anyone choking.
I also have a mountain of underwear to sort, pair and put away.
DW already on it's first run.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxx

I've unpackaged the halogen heater that I bought in the summer, assembled it (screwdrivers were in the first place I looked) and turned it on to make sure it works. 👍

Sometimes I impress myself.
This morning I received a message from a high up bod at work asking for a poem. (Did you know that I write poems?) A poem for the upstairs toilet (cockwombles loo) at work. And blockages. Must be clean. And polite.(Can't be offending the higher ups now can we)
Oooo the man is here

Well, that's annoying. He did exactly the same as I did this morning to repressurise the boiler and it worked for him. I even made him do it again while I was watching to see what he did differently. Nothing!!!!
However there must be a problem of some other sort as he said he needs to do some work on the boiler, fetched his tools and is currently banging about upstairs. 🙄
Meanwhile I'm planning my trip to Mr Al when he's gone. And yoga breathing. And unplanning a strip wash with the kettle for hot water, and planning on having a hot shower. Not while the man is here obvs!!!

Natty, the Forum Team have removed the email address, so I've DM'd you about Christmas cards.I share your dislike of carrot and coriander soup Round and have never understood why it was so popular a few years ago. Revolting. I love carrots, and I love coriander, and I'm pretty keen on soup generally too, but just not that flavour - no matter who makes it.Sorry about the BD Ionafan. I hope today is looking up, or at the very least you get your computer back asap so that you can distract yourself. *hands over big pile of sticks for the BD*So, last night I noticed I needed to top up the bird seed in the feeder. It was dark, but that's okay. After doing so I happened to look at the peanut feeder near it and thought, 'Odd. The fatballs must have gone mouldy' - until I realised the dark lumpy bits were actually two rats with very beady eyes staring at me inside the cage surrounding it to stop vermin, supposedly squirels but clearly not rats, that had very obviously been feasting. I said an extremely rude word I was so shocked and it appears that was too much for them because they twisted themselves out and disappeared very fast indeed. A neighbour has had a rat problem, the ratman was due to come to visit her today anyway, and the net result of all of that is that we've had to stop feeding the birds, after 28 years of doing so. The rats are out of control here, we've all seen them galloping about the garden, I've seen them whizz up the lemon tree, so we know they can climb anything but I'm very disappointed and Belovéd has gone very quiet about it, which is never a good sign with him.I've finally, finally, finally finished all the thank you cards and letters; 18 in total. Now to hang the front door draught excluder curtain, plant some bulbs and pansies, and check the boiler pressure (thanks for the heads up Round).Better is good enough.7

Glad to be of service HB xx
I've been to Mr Al and put all my shopping away. Met Pops and Babs going in as I came out. They'd been for lunch at Witherpoons as Pops calls it.
I'm going to eat my lunch now. No appetite earlier.
Hugs to all. Sticks thrown for BDs
