Morning all
We have been into town and got supplies, the river is very high but hasnt burst its banks and the rain has stopped now thankfully. One load over the airer with the dehumidifier going, a few work tops swishing now. I have given my office a good hoover and done a small pile of ironing.
DH are I are going through our finances - and debts, and crunching numbers. It feels quite positive to sit down together and make plans. One day we will get it all paid off!
Oh and I got a lovely Boden denim dress from Vinted for less than a tenner delivered which fits me lovely and is really comfy, so that has made me happy today!10 -
DW emptied.
Cupboard-under-the-stairs sorted enough so I can put the new tissue delivery away. Did a bonus fling at the same time and 10 skanky items have gone into the bin.

Hugs to those in flood areas, keep safe. Yes I always think of DizzyImp at 'flood time'. It isn't too bad here although it is very wet. I managed to do a lake swim this morning; the first one which is technically 'winter' (13.something degrees) so we have to do a refresher safety induction for cold water - actually that is when it rained the hardest. Apart from half an hour after I'd hung my swimming stuff on the washing line to dry in a sunny period - it chucked it down then.
Went to Mr T on the way home from swimming, eek the cost - I usually go to Mr A or Mr L but needed petrol so it made sense to get it at at once. I did splash out on a £12 'meal for 2' to have while watching Strictly then rugby.
Did chuch flowers, Mr N came with me and did some flying while I arranged.
Did a very minor bit of tidying in the kitchen.
Now catching up on report writing so the only other flying I might do is vacuum the hall as I walked in from swimming with some mud on my shoes.......Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -

i have finished unravelling the jumper which i am reknitting with shorter sleeves and a longer body, because i know i wouldn’twear it as it was… i do not like fussy, long sleeves…Stevie Nicks I am not.
our canal flooded and at least two rivers burst their banks, plus some feeder brooks, lots of people flooded out, shopping centre flooded too - have heard one shop at least won’t reopen until after Christmas, the clear up has begun. Not the first time, sadly, Apoarently lots of road closures still in place, lots of roads damaged, too, there’s a massive pothole round the corner…
Im hoping for dry weather tomorrow as there is washing to dry, and there’s be more when i get through this lot. DW and WM locked and loaded.

Valli my heart goes out to anyone affected by the storm, some of the pictures on the news are just awful.
Anxious here, I can't seem to get on an even keel at the moment. This too shall pass right?
DH and I are volunteering this morning doing some gardening work (which I am nervous about because we are working with people I don't really know and I haven't a clue about what we are supposed to be doing).
The rain has stopped at last and the sun is coming out but I have left the washing over the airer because it's nearly dry.
The hat is amazing Pigpen!8 -
Morning all
Piggers I hope your pain is easier today xx
YL - thank goodness your DS got back okay, I’d have been worried too. I hope you have an easy day planned xx
Fayolle - we’ve missed you!! Xx
Still absolutely full of phlegm but energy levels have increased slightly. Good job really as I need to get back to the paid stuff tomorrow.Today it is bright, beautiful and very cold. I need to do the usual chores as well as collect the children (2 hour return trip), pick up some bits from Aldi as I happen to pass there on my journey (normally it’s a 45 min drive there so I never make a special journey just to go to Aldi), check DD has done her homework, and weed the strawberry bed.Take care all xx8 -
Morning all xx
Love and healing vibes being sent out into the ether ❤
I gave myself the afternoon off and watched 'cottonwool' telly: a Christmas film (yep really. In October. Pure cottonwool telly no thinking required), a Madagascar film, Strictly, then took parrots and went to bed. And woke up at 10 to 8. Swallowing is not making me wince with ear pain this morning. So that's a plus!
I'm up, made my bed, brought down the laundry hamper, sorted washing into loads, set first load swishing, and had a brew.
Brew 2 required. Then I'll get dressed.
Take care
