still raining here too, goodness knows what the roads are liked but the main ones in and out were blocked yesterday…loads of businesses closed today. (shops and cafes) luckily i had shopped on Thursday and bought stuff for meals…while i can get to local shops i dare say they might not have had deliveries so milk and bread could be in short supply. So another day at home for me. I plan to do some knitting.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Morning all - hope those in the bad weather areas stay safe and dry.
Been up since before the crack of dawn. Two cups of tea drunk, decluttered the remains of last nights dinner vegetables by frying them up as a sort of bubble and squeak for breakfast (don't knock it until you've tried it!).
Bed made and bedside cabinet tidied.
DW has been on and finished - just needs unloading.
Have my 8 yo DGD visiting for an hour this morning (usual Saturday event) while her Mum goes out for a while. It's always nice to see her.
Disappointed with the weather it was supposed to be dry today but that's all changed and it's v. wet.
I want to sort out the cupboard-under-the-stairs today as it's got a bit messy - at least the bit around the door so I can step in there. I buy loo roll and tissues in bulk and that's where they live. Had a new delivery of tissues yesterday and there's nowhere to put them until I've tidied it all up.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Morning all (again!)Feel more human after a cuppa. Just fed the animals and cleaned the sheep out. Next job after brekkie is to go and get some straw from the farm next door. We pay a bit more from him but it saves me having to drive anywhere for it.
The rain has stopped thank goodness and I’ve mopped up the puddle inside. The dehumidifier is working overtime. Children away until tomorrow after so I can have an easy afternoon.
Take care all x8 -
I had my second brew with toast & marmalade. I'm dressed, sploshed bleach down the loo, emptied the bins, put out the rubbish and recycling, put new bin bags in bins, fed the birds and I'm doing a covid test. The plan was to visit Pops today but I've a sore throat and earache. Hmmm. The very fact that I'm doing a covid test is contraindicative to visiting Pops. I'll text him and ring him later. (If I ring now he'll think I'm ringing to tell him to put kettle on and then be disappointed)
It's still raining 🌧

Hallooo….waves frantically at you all…
My goodness, I leave you all for a week away, and such shenanighans. Not least 12 pages to catch up plus the end of last week’s thread - so lovely to see the busy-ness here. I’ve missed you all 💕.
I have read back, but all that I can remember is: I hope Miss ASB is recovering well, super kudos to Round for dealing with the work situation, and lamb - the sc lamb sounds delish, and well done ASB on growing your own!
We had a lovely week away, but lost count of how many times we got drenched to the skin. Literally. And then the wet weather clothes wouldn’t dry, so back on went the damp shoes for the next deluge. Sometimes the strong winds dried the clothes, so a temporary bonus until the next rain. We did a lot of walking (a lot of hilly city walking, plus city ambling, so not hardcore tramping), and it became so clear to all of us how much DH is in denial about his health and fitness. Lack of it. Not sure what to do about this, as he needs to see the light for himself. Anything that I say is “nagging” and followed by the cold shoulder treatment. So stuff him, I need to get a plan for myself together and he can either join in or not.The wm is on with the first load of a squillion. I joined you all for my second cuppa earlier, but feel that today os definitely a 3 cuppa morning. I need to sort out a Mr M delivery for next week. Oh, and guess who just remembered that they seem to forgotten to submit in their tax return 😱. A job for an evening next week.
The kettle is on, and I have some Portuguese biscuits to cheer up the poorlies. Please help yourself, get in quick, as I will be hiding them once you have helped yourselves.
Lovely time away, lovely to be back 😊 x8 -
Morning DS is safe and sound, I had a bit of a restless night so I slept in.
Weight training done, first one after being poorly and it felt good. Easy day planned, it's still raining but the wind has died down. We need food shopping.
Late breakfast next.
Much love to everyone and special get well hugs to ASB x

got some cheap smelly sets for the grandboys to fill their little bags.. I bought them a holiday.. they are getting much less this year so I have a small bag each and am popping nicknacks in there.. but started with a fluffy onesie/pjs as they fill bags nicely! some sweets, fluffy socks, a book and a few silly things like slinkies and stretchy men.
Twinkles winter coat still fits.. so glad I bought the bigger size. Pixies coat fits where it touches and dots coat is so small she can't even get her arms in both at the same time! Squeak couldn't try hers on because it makes a noise when it rubs together.. its a gorgeous regatta leopard print parka.. I think she's worn it twice! So, size 12, size 8/10 & age 14ish.. there goes my V!nted balance! They all need a stock up on the supercheap earphones too..
right.. ties to construct for Beanies hat.

Glad your DS is home safe, YL.
This is disgraceful! Flood barriers not erected in a nearby town which has suffered greatly in past floods.
It's been a cold, damp morning at the canalside open day, but fortunately canals don't usually flood. We had no gazebo to protect our stall, but some lovely chaps from the hog roast opposite (never met them before) put up their posh spare one and carried it over to us o:)o:)o:)o:) Unsurprisingly, there were very few visitors up to 10.30, when I had to go to an appointment with my chiropodist. 8 weeks since my last visit, and I have booked to go again in 12 weeks because before Christmas is too soon - also more MSE
I have come home and cooked an early lunch so that DH can go out to a model railway show (and presumably a sausage sandwich and/or cake with his coffee, since I'm not going with him). I'll take Rosie out for a walk now, while it's only drizzling, then go back to the stall for an hour or so before we pack up.
In flying news, I have shut DH's drawers, closed his wardrobe door and made his bed - or at least, the foot end which is visible through the bedroom door. Also left my own bedroom tidy and put stuff in the DW after breakfast. It's something.
Have a good day, all - rest up while you can xxx8 -
ties for hat knitted and attachedOH doing the DW and has emptied the kitchen bin and managed 3rd time lucky in finding a jumoer for Twinkle that actually looks ok with her trousers.. why can men not dress chldren? I am going to find clothes since we have to be out in 10 minutes for swimming..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8
