If you get good ee coverage indoors (and are not relying on WiFi calling) rwg are worth a look, mainly fir their one year pay upfront deals.
But it is probably advisable to try for a month then change to a 12 month deal

I don't think you get a 5g signal on EE payg. I've been with 1pmobile since March, I have a data boost bundle with them (currently 25gb for £10 which is an ongoing offer, not sure for how long). I've had no issues with porting my number etc. They don't have an app but their website is ok. Also you can't get hold of their customer services at the weekend (I haven't had to) but advice via live chat can be hit and miss, same as all providers I suppose. Some people complain it's difficult to get through to them on the phone but I've never tried. You're not tied in though, the data boost sims are 30 day, you can set them to auto recur or not. The only thing you can't do in advance is change the boost. So if you want to go up or down with the data amount you have to wait until your current one has ended. Overall I like them, there are cheaper providers but 1p give you the same fast EE speeds, Wifi and 4g calling. The only other provider I can get 4g calling on is Three, but I can't get a phone signal at all with them at random places like when visiting my Mum. EE signal for me is ok 99% of the time.

If you are looking for the closest thing to ee without actually being ee you ought to check out 1pmobile.
I wouldn't say I was a fan but I am a much lighter user and don't really need a technically identical signal.

I use the budget end rwg but some people find their ee coverage doesn't stretch to rural locations., whereas ee themselves and 1p offer a stronger signal and WiFi calling.

One quirk of 1pmobile is that you need to make a topup of £10 at least every 120 days, and they process lower value boosts out of your account credit, which they then process an auto topup to replenish if you go under £2 credit. So the actual amount you pay each month can vary unless you are on the £10 bundle or more.
Auto top-ups are an option, you don't have to allow auto topups, we don't.
But you do then need to make sure you top up by the due date, this is clearly stated on the website and they email you when getting close.

From credit. I manually topup if there isn't enough, but I usually only buy the £3 bundle (1GB)

I moved from Plusnet to Lyca after seeing their prices - What a mistake !! Day 15 without mobile service, Number porting still not resolved. Lyca is a Joke...Don't even think about moving to  Lyca. They are absolute liars, everyday they will say issue will be resolved 'tomorrow' but tomorrow will never came!

I am not complaining about the 45 min to get a customer service because that 10 days I am used to that. Any day any time minimum 45 min to get them!

I also heard Lyca employees sell customer data in Dark net, I don't be surprised if is done by Lyca Mobile as only way to make them survive is selling customer data as their mobile cost is £2-3 per month.

Does anyone have any experience of Lyca Mobile?  We've been a long term EE customer and do get good signal but our contract are now up.  I've looked at Sky but they have no 5G coverage where I am so checked out Lyca who appears to use EE

A quick check shows EE 5Gb sim at £19 (10Mb) or £22 (100Mb) whereas Lyca is £4.  20Gb with EE is £22 and £25 where as Lyca is £8.

Problem is we are loyal and not a lot in the monthlies if the service isn't as good.  And I've just seen this

    The 3 best bits

    1) Now on EE's excellent network
    2) Join instantly on an eSIM
    3) Cheap international calls

    The 3 worst bits

    1) No WiFi calling / 4G calling
    2) Signal not technically identical to EE
    3) Customer service not great

Day 15 with out my mobile service!

Unfortunately, this level of incompetence existed at Lyca since before their poor security led to a cyber ransomware attack.
There are many people now stuck in porting queues.

I can't understand why MSE ever promoted them. Thus forum is full of poor reports of Lyca stretching back months.

In my opinion MSE should be doing more v

As I understand it bundles below £10 come out of your credit and the low credit autotopup is at £2. So you could find you don't have enough credit to autorenew your bundle. Do you get notified if your credit balance is below your bundle cost?

I wouldn't try to buy a bundle if I didn't have enough credit. I'd top up first.
