Does the booster box just boost the whole signal or is it a splitter also?  I had this issue a while back where the booster/splitter had failed on one channel and I was able to choose an unaffected channel to use.

As far as I know the booster box boosts the whole signal.  It is in my loft, I have never seen the box as I never go into the loft.  I remember the aerial installer, who came back a few times after erecting the new roof aerial, returning because the signal was not good enough, and fitting the booster box.

He told me never to unplug the socket for the booster which is in my bedroom and Ihave never touched this plug - it's been the same for about three and a half years with no problems with the EPG until now.  The installer was very good although I remember it was expensive.   If any adjustment is needed I would have to ask the installer to come back as I'm not able to do it myself.

I just checked and the bedroom EPG is perfect and the living room one is still missing a lot of the programmes.  As

    Thanks for replying.

@Mum161111, please do come back and tell us the results of swapping the two boxes over.

They are identical so it is simple to do. Just unplug the power lead, aerial flylead and HDMI cable at the back of each box and plug into the same places on the other box (you can't mix them up).

I'll do that and report back, Alderbank.  I have a very busy few days coming up and might not manage today or tomorrow (also out on Thursday) but I will definitely report back, thank you.  I am most appreciative of all the replies, thank you.

This morning I did as you suggested, Alderbank.   At first both boxes were showing full EPG and I was very hopeful.  I had to go out and I am just in over lunch for an hour or so.

I checked again just now and, unfortunately, the box in the bedroom (which was the one in the living room with the incomplete EPG) is exactly the same as it was with a number of the channels showing as "no information."  The one now in the living room, which was in the bedroom room, is working perfectly and showing all EPG information.

I am not sure what that means although I wonder if the one (now in the bedroom) with the incomplete EPG is just wearing out.

Because I watch the one in the living room much more than the one in the bedroom I'll keep the "switch" as it is now with the incomplete EPG one in the bedroom and the much better complete EPG one in the living room. I checked that all the cables were properly attached and secure.

I have to go out soon and, when I am back in later, I'll check again.  It does sound as if the problem is with the box which has started to show only incomplete EPG programmes.

Thank you for suggesting swapping the boxes around, Alderbank.

Probably a bit late for this post but having been having been having this "no programme information" for ages on many channels I found someone on another forum had mentioned deleting channels not used.
Pressed the "freeview" button with the F on the remote. Clicked on Settings on the top line, then on Channel Settings (it doesn't work whilst recording a programme), on Edit Channel List.  A long list of every channel comes up, put a tick in the box of the channels you want to delete.  You can do more than one at a time.
On the remote, press the + which is to the upper right of the OK button and with "Delete" highlighted click OK.
That seems to have solved the problem for today and many days hence so can now set up recording for the week.  If you accidentally delete a channel you do watch, retune and start again.   Of course, if you do a retune in future due to channel changes you'll also have to do this editing again.
Fingers crossed this has solved the very irritating "no programme info" constantly appearing.

Thanks very much HBone.  Definitely not late and I'm pleased you posted.  The problem was never resolved and I just accepted that sometimes there was no, or very limited programme information available.

I followed the instructions carefully and deleted a number of unused channels.  Unfortunately, after saving the changes, I still have quite a lot of channels continuing to show as:   "No programme information available."
I'll try again another time and wont't give up.

UPDATE:  I turned the television off for a few hours and checked again when I switched on.  Although there are still some channels showing as "No programme information available" there are definitely more channels with information available.  It is a real improvement and I am pleased you posted.

Thank you again for posting, HBone.

The instructions you have given, Hbone, really have helped, thank you.  Occasionally there is still "No programme information available" but it really is very much better than before I followed your instructions.

This may be a bit technical, and I don't use a Humax box, but you can probably check the signal quality and strength being received by the Humax (possibly under a setting like transmitter information or similar). If you can you may find the signal as being weak or average which signifies that you need to sort that out.

I also user a booster and had to replace the power unit (which is in our bedroom) as it wasn't working correctly.

I got a replacement from Screwfix

    https://www.screwfix.com/p/labgear-5a-f-plug-amplifier-power-supply-1-25m/80459

If yours is similar to this then it is worth trying at £15.69. Screwfix are pretty good should you need to return it but double check in case they say you can't return opened goods. Mine came in a cardboard box (easy to repack) but if it is in a plastic enclosed pack that needs cutting open they may not be too happy!

    Hope this helps

Thanks very much Neil49.  I had had quite a bit of trouble with my aerial until I found a very good aerial installer who was able to  sort it for me.  He put a booster box in my loft and adjusted the position of my roof aerial.

It was explained to me at the time - something about the number of tuners in the Humax box - and I seem to have the best boosted signal that's possible in my area.

The problem with the EPG 'No programme information available' did not happen until much later - over two years I think.

I really appreciate the time you have taken to search out all this information for me, Neil49.

    Thank you again.
