ForumUser7 said:Anyone tried university tuition fee invoice payments by debit card for this 5% cashback offer please? Ts and Cs say no bill payments, but internet suggests bills and invoices may be classed differently. I’m not convinced it’d work, but thought it was worth checking. Thank you
Depends on which MCC your university utilitises.

Thanks both - I’ll give it a try, just unfortunate that it is unlikely that any due cashback would become available before the end of this calendar month.
At least with chase I can try with £1 and then see immediately! If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

It's 21/10/23. The app is showing £0.00 "As at 11/10/2023". Clicking on the "Barclays Cashback Awards" link takes me to an app page showing total cashback £0.00, Available cashback £0.00, pending cashback £0.00.
Clicking on the "Redeem and view offers" button takes me out of the app to a web page which repeats the £0 total/pending/available" information, and clicking on the three dots at the top followed by "Linked Cards" shows a single card - the card that expired years ago, and the current card is not shown.
A phone call to Barclays on the 19th, took 30 minutes with the conclusion that "It should be working". I opened a complaint - still waiting for the confirmation letter.
In the meantime I spent just short of £50 on the card over the weekend to see if anything turns up.
My gut feeling is that the only way I will see any money from this "promotion" will be in the form of compensation.
Can anyone else tell me if they see their cashback balance increase on the "website accessed through the app" when they've made a purchase, and if so how long did it take to show up?
Zero cashback showing for transactions from 9th October onwards.
App still shows "Barclays Cashback Rewards £0.00 cashback balance as of 11/10/2023".
No evidence of any cashback earned (small test transaction on the 9th, just shy of £50 spend last weekend).
I have switched back to my usual spending cards for cashback - expect to be given some form of compensation.

Sorry all, 1 more question - if I spent £280 on my Barclays card for example, I would get £14 cashback at 5% if it wasn’t a £10 cap. Presumably due to the £10 cap, I would get the £10 rather than nothing (due to having gone over the cap)?
I’d previously heard from Barclays (but I suspect it is wrong) say for example I spent £100, and got £5 cash back, and then went onto spend another £100 I would get another £5. However if my second transaction exceeded £100, I would in fact get nothing for it as I would’ve exceeded the £10 cap if it was paid.If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

I can see I've been awarded the £10 cashback today. It's listed in the App under Barclays Cashback Rewards rather than the Blue Rewards. Sill question, but how do I move it to my current account? When I click on Redeem, it takes me to an external webpage.0

It takes a day or two for the money to arrive in your Barclays current account. During that time, you can't see your £10 anywhere. The system Barclays use for this looks much like the Natwest/RBS Rewards redemption system which works reliably if slowly.

Does it make you login to your account?
I don't use the Natwest one so not come across anything like this before! just assumed it would be simple like redeeming the Blue Rewards.0
