The requirement for suppliers to read meters was dropped from the Supply Licence over 4 years ago. The requirement is now to obtain a meter reading once every 12 months. How it is obtained it not defined: ie; it can be a smart reading; a customer reading or an industry reading.

Householders have a choice when their smart meter is installed. I chose to have mine installed in Dumb mode, which is my right. This can't be changed without my permission. Before you ask, I had a smart meter installed because my old meter had to be changed.

Yes, but you need an EV; a GivEnergy battery and, from December, a heat pump.

I guess this is for low users or strange readings checks......cough cough...which of course must be investigated.
