Work done and house presentable - ish.In bed with a hot water bottle, I’m thrilled I haven’t had any bread or biccies today (I adore hot buttered toast and chocolate malted milks so this is a VERY big thing for me).
@mumtoomany! Raspberries have been good, I know you said we wouldn’t get loads this year but we’ve had a decent haul. I’ll happily take more off your hands!Sleep well girls xx7 -
came home late, tidied kitchen, stacked DW, made tea , took recycling and rubbish out, ironed damp washing.
Very very proud of self as got sequence question on Only Connect -Lord of the rings question! Lucky guess, have never read the books and have only seen snippets of the film but I know Sméagol is Gollum…

Wanders in to thread......not sure if I'd missed it or even noticed after reading yesterday as I've gone down with a post-holiday pre-back to work cold which at least masked any signs of flu jab side-affects (if indeed there were any). So today wasn't the lively flying I'd hoped although I did a load of washing up, tidied vaguely, watched a training webinar (ADHD), did a load of bank stuff online, printed off my first student's info for next week, made a few phone calls.
Promise I will be more galvanised tomorrow although unless I feel significantly better I may give swimming a miss even though it is the gym swim not an outside one (found a lovely river just outside Worcester on hols!).Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Hello all
I didn't help the straggler situation because I posted on the wrong thread too. Tsk it's not like I haven't been around long enough. WAC here so I have got up for a bit. Can't go in the kitchen because I will wake the dog up who then won't settle again, so no middle of the night snacking but like ASB I could probably do to leave the WAC biscuit tin alone.
Work has been awful (hence not sleeping). Then my worries about work pick up other worries like a worry magnet and before you know it they are all ganging up on me. Sigh. This too shall pass right?
DH has just come down to see if I am OK. Turns out he wasn't properly asleep either.
Need to be at the paid stuff for 8am. I have a facial booked in the afternoon which is a bit of an extravagance. Then I have to go out to a work meeting tomorrow night. Flying was minimal yesterday because I was out of the house 9.30am to 8.30pm but things aren't too bad.Round has got me thinking about annual leave. Booking some time off would be a really good idea. Going to put some of my worries down on paper to see if that helps.8 -
Morning all. Hope you got back to sleep YL. Welcome back intotheforest.
A day to myself today as I've cancelled plans, before being back at the paid stuff tomorrow. Going to get banking up to date and will report back later with any flying.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
Morning xx
Saw the time on YL's post and had to jump in with a mahoosive hug and much love entwined with posivibes 😘 Get some Annual Leave booked - I work from one break to the next, like taking half term holidays from school. It's better than having an endless stretch of work, work, work to not look forward to. That's why my week off in November, January and March are now booked and authorised. That gives me 16.5 hours to take ad hoc before 31st March. Call them snow days ❄ and keep them just in case. If not needed they'll be tagged on to my March leave so I don't lose them. 😊
Also I hope that writing things down helped. It usually helps me. Makes things more doable when you see them written down. Xx
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast and supped a brew. I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I tootle off to the paid stuff. My first day on new phone system. Joy of joys! My first day answering Phlebotomy calls - I can't even say it. I've been assured there won't be many calls - yeah, they said that about Comm Neuro when they suddenly dumped it on us. They lied. So we'll see.
Have a good day

YL I was going to suggest you write them down, and I should really do the same myself. I need to also avoid the news as some of it is only increasing my anxiety.
Jazee that sounds like a good plan!
Covid jabs today, and Mr Flamingo always feels rough the evening of and the next day, so planning to do very little after lunch. This means he's already on his training run (first half marathon on the 15th, and he's raising money for the hospice that looked after my 36 year old brother in law when he died of bowel cancer, and subsequently my SIL and 3 nieces as they've grieved. Very proud of him as he's a big guy and not what you'd assume of a runner, but it means a great deal to him).
I however am just having a coffee, watching the Nick Knowles decluttering, and hoping the washing on the line that got soaked yesterday will dry soon as the weather is forecast to be better. If it holds, it's bedding week so I will strip beds, wash, and replace. Our bin collections are fortnightly, so each week is either bin week or sheets week and it helps me be sure they're done regularly!
I realised after a thread here that I am using my washing machine wrong, and need to only do 3kg on a quick wash, not packing it full. No wonder stuff doesn't come out clean! So now I need to learn what program to use for full loads, not very physically ditty but can have some stains or with running clothes sweat! Ideally 30, maybe a 40. What do you all regularly do? I never colour seperate either
Hope everyone has a good dayMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Morning all.
Yesterday was half a washout (both literally and metaphorically) so I'll just ignore it and move it. I slept a bit longer last night and feel better this morning for having done so.
I am proud to say that I crossed something off my Toots list yesterday. As I sorted the Christmas decorations last January before putting them away, I put a reminder in my diary to CS the bag of excess bits and pieces in October. They've actually gone [fer-ling!]
So far this morning I have
- drunk 2 cuppas and taken my meds
- checked finances
- FUPA clean washing
- filed a few papers (still plenty more where those came from, but I'm running out of punched pockets to keep the ancestors in some sort of order!)
- written a shopping list which includes punched pockets
- checked to see whether my prescription is ready for collection (it isn't)
On my list for today:
- early breakfast (I can already hear DH moving about)
- deliver Ethernet cable no.2 to K on my way to...
- Action Heart (legs only - no rowing today)
- chiropractor (shoulder)
- odd bits of shopping that I couldn't get yesterday
- at least 3 phonecalls
- at least 2 emails
- Rosie's walk
Should be doable
Hope you all have a good day xxx6 -
morning all
bright and sunny here. I have taken up the offer of grapes to make grape jelly (which i think is an american thing, having googled, probably what goes with peanut butter) and the lady has told me her address but it’s a long road out of town, and busy, so i’ve asked her for landmarks. So hoping to go there today and i had better visit the aged ps.
Need to read the instructions on the sample stuff for the doctors tomorrow
i can peg my swimming stuff out, to lighten at least.

I had some sweetie digging through my bins after we put them out after midnight!!!! Anyway the top bag was the contents of the 4 litter trays.. which split, and spilled cat deposit on them.. then a mouldy old cat pi$$y pillow (Nutkin!) then there were the 2 bags from the bathroom and oilet with used sanitary products, snotty tissues from everyones cold and used razors and wax strips... They seem to have given up at that point.. PMSL.. Tis stuff is in the bin for a reason!! It was worth having to clean up this morning knowing they were covered in cat faeces..
The dustpan was also fairly broken so I didn't even clean those and just threw then in the bin with the swept up poops... I did inadvertantly bring next dors bin into my garden so apologies given there.. oops!
I need to clear airers, the lightbulb on the landing has died.. and I need some energy.. I am still in recovery from the peopling at the weekend but this weekend is going to be just as manic..Saturday currently looks like this..Miss Squizz is having her teeth removed, 6 in total.. she has enamel hypoplasia. 9:45. They usually don't do surgery until they are 12, hers is so bad she is having it at 8!Dance class/MT 10:30-12
Swimming 2:30-3
Pixie at a party at 3 about 15 miles awayDot at opticians at 4:20.I need to fit a pack up shop in there somewhere too.
I'm not sure I can do all of this..
