Ahhh I can’t have anything fungus related - no mushrooms, quorn, tofu etc. I’m missing an enzyme which means I can’t break it down and so I get violently unwell.

My kids do love veg tbf. Broccoli is their fav but they do like most veg that isn’t cauliflower or cooked carrots. So I am lucky in that regard.

Hi Twinkl, Happy New Year. Your goals for this year sounds great.

I struggle with meal planning as I struggle to think of something we will all eat. I try and aim for one bit we will all, or all attempt, to eat and then tweak everyone's meal so that they all have something they will like i.e.maybe chicken with a Chinese type sauce and then noodles for DS and rice for DD. Baked potatoes are always a safe food in our house so that makes a good after school low effort meal.

Bah! The dreaded brown envelope has landed for DS1. Nightmare. I genuinely hate the brown envelope.

I have one who doesn't like baked potatoes or potatoes mush in general.

The lacking enzyme must make it difficult.

I have one that will eat all vegetables and the other would like to avoid vegetables. The vegetable avoider detests broccoli, they have the gene where it tastes very bitter to them, they would opt for cooked carrots and peas still frozen, surprisingly they enjoy salads including home made coleslaw so at least some vitamins enter their body.

No idea what the brown envelop is but sending you hugs to tackle whatever it contains.

Dishwasher is pretty much in. Just needs the door putting on and screwing in. But I had to kick him out so I could make tea. But it’s pretty much done. Woo hoo.

Went to the family exercise class we do this morning too. So I between us we’ve used about £60’s a worth of stuff there so far and it’s only the 3rd Jan. Woop woop.

Can’t believe the last day of the holidays is tomorrow. I don’t want to go back to work at all. I could cry.

I can't believe how many of us have perfectly good dishwashers sat in our kitchens not plumbed in 🤣 mine was sat there for months and so in the end I would just ask every day if DP's doing it and no, too busy  was the response so one day I said, it's ok I'll pay someone - he fitted it that week! Enjoy your DW! That will help with keeping the kitchen sink clear at least.

So only 2 jobs I’ve failed on.
    1. Clean and tidy the boys room.
I have cleaned it and sort of tided it, but I need to get rid of lots of stuff that is too young for them. Books and toys mainly. I did do all the clothes, but it turned into a mammoth task and I’ve run out of time. But a declutter is on my list of jobs.

    2. Dishwasher - it’s almost there. I’m just very reliant on DH doing his bit for that. We need to put the door on (it’s an integrated one) tighten things up and then run the ‘test cycle’. So I have moved on with it, but not completely as much as I would have liked.

My next jobs for today are change my bed and then hoover upstairs and the stairs. Need to get DS2 in the bath (he won’t have showers) and make sure all the stuff is chopped and ready for DS1s cooking lesson tomorrow. PE kits and uniform for both is sorted so one less thing to worry about there.

I will go back to work feeling semi organised if it kills me.
