Thanks for the info. The reason behind my DD annoyance is that my favourite quick and simple way to easily set up a DD as/when required by various current account switching offers is R.I.P., by the look of it. (Sob...) It was good while it lasted, about 11 years by my count.
Truth be told, I think that's what most of us used it for. I think I must have around 10 DD's still in play, I hope I can keep them going.

Is it R.I.P? I phoned up last week added two DD both for £5 one to pay out on 20th of the month and one to pay out 27th. Asked if I wanted to have a single £10 DD on 27th, I said no thanks I’d like two as request these were setup took longer than previously on website but 5 mins and it was all done. Nothing stopping you calling them and requesting DD’s.

Thanks - bad wording on my part. I guess I don't like to talk to people....
Did you mean to 'pay in' - as in 'pay from an external account into your YBS account'?

BTW their verbatim response today is:
'Thank you for your message. We have not made changes to the Apprecently as this is on a different platform than the website. It is the website that has had the changes. We are aware of the repeating of transactions and we are investigating why this has happened to try and resolve this. In relation to the other Appissues you mentioned have you recently changed your phone or device you are using? Have you made sure you are on the latest version of our App. If you check in your App store and see if there is any updates required. For Direct Debits in you do need to set this up with the external provider. Regards, Nikki General Servicing'. Sigh. I don't have the strength

Got a phone call this morning as I raised the DD functionality removal from website and lack of communication as a complaint.
I was advised they didn’t communicate this, as they did know it would happen, it’s currently under review but no guarantee it will be re-enabled. Was advised I could call (which I’ve done) I did point out that idea of the web saver was that it could be administered online, fair they did see the funny side.

They are also paying £30 into my account, I didn’t ask for this or expect it. My complaint was around the removal of the add functionality without any communication.

Your input gave me the strength for another (a bit more strongly worded) message to them, let's see what that brings.

    And their response:
Thank you for your message. I will log a complaint for you regarding the DD facility, and the Customer Relations Team will be on touch with you in due course. However, please note that this facility was only ever available on the former Egg account (Web Saver). Any other account to be funded by a regular payment in would be done via a Standing Order. Kind regards,

Not quickly, got acknowledged in a week or so, then 3 or 4 weeks before I heard again.

I've just fired off a complaint as well. On the website it says they will reply in 3 to 4 days but I can't see that.
