YBS online and deposits by direct debit

I'm one of those with a legacy web saver account (from when YBS took over Egg) which has the facility to make deposits by direct debit. With their new online banking interface I can't find the relevant menu or page to manage the direct debits. The current active dds are still being pulled, but how do I amend them? Or indeed set up new ones? Wouldn't some sort of notice have to be given if the facility was being withdrawn? Thanks.

Thanks xylophone. But my reading of that link (esp. "they've been cancelled and what to do about it") is that it refers to direct debits pulling money out of YBS accounts. My direct debits are set up at the YBS end and pull money into a YBS account - and they're still working (ie, existing inbound DDs have not been cancelled by YBS). There were quite a few people here using this particular legacy account for DDs on current accounts and I'm hoping one of them can tell me how I now manage them.

Just noticed that that link goes on to say: "If you have payments made into your account, you’ll still be able to receive them e.g. by direct debits and standing orders made out to you, Faster Payments and Bacs." So how do we now manage those DDs?

Looks they finally got us. They were bound to make this change at some stage. I cannot recall they specifically advised it though, so that is a major disappointment. They would probably argue that it’s in their general T&Cs.
Are you planning on asking them / complaining?1 -
cancel at originating bank?1

I asked here first on basis that forumites are more likely to give correct answers than CS reps. But if they've taken the ability away without notice then I'll be complaining.friolento said:Are you planning on asking them / complaining?
I can of course do that if I want to cancel. But if I want to amend an existing one or set up a new one then it has to be done at the YBS end.oldfella said:cancel at originating bank?

FTAOD you're aware that this is the second incarnation following a launch of a flawed issue a few weeks ago which was subsequently rolled back?
So, when YBS first introduced the flawed upgrade, I asked them the question regarding its missing legacy DD functionality.
They replied they could alter or cancel existing inbound DDs by a phone call 'in the interim, while the missing functionality was being addressed'.
I took this as implying they were intending continuing with the facility once a fix had been established.
The functionality reappeared on the subsequent roll back and has been working up until the relaunch of the upgrade 10 or so days ago.
However I note those historical messages have disappeared with the so called 'upgrade'.
I did ask the question again last week: I have had a reply that confused the DD 'inbound' with the outbound functionality that the poster above appears to also have confused it with.
I've asked the question again today.
More contact/messaging from others affected, 'complaining' on the missing facility may add weight?
Note if you decide to message them, they have also introduced a 'do you want notification of a reply' option that you'll need to opt for if you want to avoid constant checking.4 -
Thanks for your reply. I've now also asked the question (via online messaging).soulsaver said:I've asked the question again today.

I have also asked via online messaging and opted in for email on replies.2

Well asking via online messaging has yet again demonstrated that CS reps simply don't understand direct debits. The answer I got was "Having checked your Web Saver account, I can see there are no active outgoing direct debits. If you are referring to direct debits coming in to the account, you will need to contact the provider these are set up with."I've responded by pointing out why that answer is a total nonsense and asking for my question to be referred to a supervisor. I have a feeling that I may in due course be complaining about more than the absence of the facility.
