Hi guys some help would be appreciated, have read through the newbie thread but can’t seem to find the right answer.

So I received an NTK through the post last week (no sticker on car) because I was parked on double yellow lines on a road that claims to be private. However on this particular road one can make the assumption the private road doesn’t start until you pass gates which I assume lock up at the end of the working day. I was parked before these gates and around 5 meters from the junction after you turn onto the ‘claimed’ private road. This road has existed for decades which houses multiple businesses and the cameras were only installed earlier in the year. The parking ticket claims I was parked on private land and in a car park but there are no designated parking spots where I was parked hence parking on double yellow lines. The reason for charge on the letter is described as ‘unauthorised vehicle’ I would like to send a picture of the NTK but I am afraid that I may incriminate myself. How can I go about challenging this?

20 days have now passed since the date of the letter although I only received the letter last week. I am passed the 14 day period which means i am in for £100

please shed some light on this

thanks In advance

You aren't in for £100 because you won't be paying.  Which PPC and which road?

Can you show us a GSView link?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

  • Hi thanks for your reply and appreciate the reassurance. The private company is called secure parking solutions and the road in question is called pentos drive b11 3ta. I am unsure what a gsview link is? I am using my iPhone, should I just send a picture of the notice here whilst blanking out personal information?

I hoped to save typing out:

  • Oh haha sorry, of course give me a few moments I’ll get it sent over
  • The forum doesn’t allow me to post links because I have a new account. I can show you a picture of the area and if you can type the road name In maps you can have a look at the area. So I was parked in place of the silver vehicle on the left

OK - now log in as if to pay on their website (BUT DON'T PAY) and screenshot any pics of the sign.  Then show us that image.

  • Ok, logged in with the pcn number and reg number and was greeted with a page showing multiple pictures from the one camera of my car parked in the spot and the driver leaving and returning to my car. There are no signs visible in the picture as the location of the camera seems to be mounted on the blue building around the top right corner of the white sign with the red border which itself reads ‘no fly tipping cctv in operation’ it’s important to note I went back to the area last night and did see a couple of parking notice/warning signs, one mounted on the blue building next to the private road sign and another mounted on a post at the beginning of the road when you turn in. However neither of these signs are visible in the photographs shown. On the website I can proceed to another page but not before input customer and card details in which case I’m afraid it may instantly debit my card without giving me a final submit option

OK just do what the NEWBIES thread tells you.  You'll already know from the PCN that they are in the BPA AOS which means you can use the lack of signs to appeal to POPLA (without implying who was driving, of course).

  • Thanks mate, am I also using the template to appeal on the private firms website as well as appealing to popla?

That's Mrs Mate!  Appeal to the PPC first and, when they reject your appeal, they should give you a POPLA number.
