Sleep on it for a night or two and see how you feel.

There was a point in my diary where I had more savings then debt I could have just paid off, but chose not to.

Think of it this way.  If you didn’t use your savings to pay it off, how long would it take for you to pay the card off?  Then weigh up the pros and cons.
    The financial wealth building journey.

Creation is really simple to overpay. Mine brings down the amount per month though and not the term. I think you can change it, I have just never bothered. X

So I ended up giving in, Natwest credit card has been cleared. Emergency Fund is fully funded to £1500. I have £100 in savings buffer and my sinking funds are partially funded.

My focus is now to get the savings up to £1k then start on the Creation loan.

New budget now includes £250 a month into sinking funds and £150 into savings. I will also have any overtime money and backpay in Septembers pay as well.

I'm the same sarahwithlove, I don't rest easy if I have CC debt. I would have done the same as you, it causes less anxiety! Well done xx

It feels good to have no credit card debt. But I am struggling with managing my budget at the moment. Not because it's not sufficient but because I'm struggling with motivating myself to cook. I just don't fancy anything food wise at the moment. So I just take the easy way out. But that now means I'm on a tight budget for the rest of the month.

Savings took a hit this week, purchased hotel for weekend away in October and train tickets for London trip in December. But buying in advance will save me money in the long run.

Overtime hours are increasing, another person left the team so doing hours every week at the moment. Admittedly only 2 or 3 but it adds up. This month is showing an extra £120 on my payslip. So trying to make most of it whilst I can. We've finally got some replacements lined up, but don't start until October. They then need training as well, so would think it will keep going until December.

Hopefully you will have the overtime towards the savings buffer. And will you get back pay this month too. At least with the card gone it's one less thing to have to think about. Just think where you will be by this time next year. Well done.

Yes I have put it towards the savings buffer so that will replace what I have lost.

Backpay won't be paid until end of September sadly but it will all help when it gets to that stage.

You are doing really well. Everything organised.
Re your food budget, when you don't feel like cooking what 'is the easy way' You could do a few fake-aways and freeze them for cba days? Just a thought...
