I am reading my book now. I’m too worn out for more housework and need a rest before a busy week ahead. Pork roasting for Sunday lunch and I am trying to find a new to me teapot online xx6

Hallooooo
I had to pick up my repeat prescription so I thought I'd save petrol and get my Mr Al shop while I was in town. It was very busy but nothing I couldn't cope with. Woot woot.
Lunch now. I treated myself to a sandwich- and stayed in budget. Maybe being mse is finally sinking in. Hopefully flying will tap in to my psyche next!!!

Flamingo, my life hasn't turned out as I thought it would At All. I always thought I'd have kids, but at 67 I think that boat has probably sailed. I'm in awe of all mothers. 40 seems to be the age at which a lot of people re-evaluate where their life is, and rethinks what they actually want and are probably of an age then to be more realistic so even though it feels uncomfortable at the time. It's a good thing to re-decide things. Happy birthday, and as a volunteer I can honestly say it's one of the best things I could have done after leaving the world of work. With your retail experience I'd think any of the charities in your area would be absolutely delighted to have you, so you can afford to be a bit careful about which ones you approach. What makes my volunteering so perfect for me is that a) I do something I'm good at which is what they happened to need when we had an exchange of emails, and b) I know the management really values and appreciates what I do. Have a look around and see who's in your area and whether the atmosphere in the shops feels right for you. Most charities are short of volunteers at the moment because a lot of the 65+ group were stood down during the pandemic and very, very few have returned. Good luck with this next phase of your life.Catastrophising is very definitely a word, and here's a definition. I haven't read that article, mainly because I read the other day elsewhere that it's a symptom of anxiety that I happen to suffer from myself and that's good enough for me. What's helpful about knowing that is what seems like normal considerations to me seem disproportionate to other people, but it does make me very, very good at planning, so it's not all bad.Healing vibes for your dog walk, Ionafan - a broken ankle = very ouch and I have much sympathy for her. Also for you YL with the hope that you start to feel more yourself very soon.Nicky2, how lovely that you're nurturing a little apple tree! I'm also a fan of Dr Julia Patterson, and have been following her on Twitter for quite some time.More Ibuprofen, parrots and a small selection from my Compeed collection heading your way Pigpen. Also some surgical spirit to help prevent nasty bugs in the blister area. I rather like surgical spirit, which is a new addition to my life. This week has not gone to plan. No dusting has been done, no thank you cards written, no filing tackled, and no sorting through my In Tray. I have however started tackling the front steps because they are ... what's the word? ... horrible and rather revolting. And it's either my imagination or the front path is positively slippery from all the gunge that's seeped out of the pots over the past year or so, and that makes me feel unsafe (see catastrophising above and also comments about broken ankles). Yesterday I discovered that we don't have the right connections for the pressure washer I bought just as South West Water introduced a hosepipe ban at the beginning of last summer and finally lifted four days ago. *sigh* Anyway, they look a lot better already with a bit of time spent on them so I'll just do a bit, little and often, until I can get the right bits and pieces I need. Also tackled the tomato plants that needed to be dealt with, and the two boxes of compost that have sat out there for weeks are now spread under the pear tree, which isn't looking too healthy right now. Hoping that the worms will do all the hard work for me and it will look and feel a lot better in the spring. There is honey fungus in the cherry tree which is fairly close by so I need the pear tree to be as resilient as possible. In short this week, as well as my life in general, has not worked out as planned. But that's okay.Better is good enough.8

She clams up when I try to talk to her about it xHiding this under spoiler as it may be a bit TMI for some delicate ladies and I wouldn't want to offend.. AF stuff..We just talk about it in terms of my experience, fortunately being the 7th daughter to go through this we have plenty of experience and she has heard us talking in general.. We don't do planned discussions it is all very general.. Asking them to grab pads off the shelf.. explaining why we don't flush pads/nappies/baby wipes and how to dispose of them properly as part of a discussion around water usage and sewage plants.. and how tomato plants often grow downstream of these plant outlets.. I drop in as we are walking to the bathroom 'this is the drawer where the pads live when you need them/can you put the pads in the drawer please?' ... so we don't really talk directly about it just keep it low key and get into different bits through other conversations. I have gone through with her today about irregularity/heaviness, pain/cramp, importance for hygience, which way to place pads, a reminder of disposal.. above all.. a reminder they must be changed regularly so the seagulls don't come in thinking you're smuggling a bucket of herring.. yes worded just like that.. humour is very necessary.. and she doesn't like seagulls!uniforms and pack ups sorted.. I'm having a cuppa and heading to my nest before my eyeballs fall out!
New heated airer set up, with wheels. they really should come with them, they are amazing.. and loaded up with laundry.. and cats..my bones hurt!
OH wants a dog.. My mother is after keeping 2... Vera and Roo ... I would call mine Nancy but I'm not getting one! I would love a puppy but I don't want a dog or the responsibility, cats are much easier.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7 -

Click on where it says 'spoiler' with the eye symbol next to it and it opens the hidden text.. seeing as we cannot use our white spychat any more it is the next best thing.. its not a film or book spoiler but it will definitely spoil your appetite lol
