is the 13 weeks sanction, half award, or is it 100% no award, or is it no jsa award, but full housing benefit award part of the UC. what is the rules, for each part of the UC claim, and waht is the max sanctions, surely you can never lose your home, we rent council, we were told our rent will always be covered, even if we are on the dole.Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. the job is local, i can walk to it,it is dry and warm, indoors, i have passed the trial period, hence they cant dismiss me without good reason,( been there 3 yrs) i know the job inside out, i hate relearning things. the customers are excellent, just the bosses are snobs , stuck up, and never give you fair time arguing with them, there is no union.theoretica said:Sounds like you would need to calculate your part time hours very carefully so you do have enough to live on. "You need to make it clear that a number of staff at certain JCP offices across the country are still threatening to stop claimants Housing Benefit by way of sanctions - this is illegal and wrong - JCP cannot sanction your HB or Council Tax benefit - they can only stop your JSA portion of around the princely sum of £73 a week."
@Spoonie_Turtle seems to have given an informed response.0 -
6 hrs is doable if it was a desk job, and only lasted 6 hrs a day with 30 mins lunch break. I work 3 hrs, 100% max labour, no rest break( cant get any by law, need to be for 4.5hrs continous) Im 55 , not 21, my day is 13 hrs long, sent home between shifts, then back in for more 3hrs solid labour, hence never get a full 8 hrs sleep a night. manage 4 hrs on aver, and cant sleep during the day.Rubyroobs said:
You can't pick and choose which parts of Uc you claim. and could be sanctioned for voluntarily giving up a job without good reason such as health reasons or childcare. Six hours a day of work is very doable for most people.stu12345_2 said:Brie said:Will your current employer allow you to work part time? If you are both working 13 hours a day is that 5 days a week? And getting at least minimum wage for those hours??
And I do think a DRO advisor will wonder why you aren't maximising your income if you can. But no one expects you to become ill from overwork. And DWP won't expect you to work 60 hours a week or whatever you're doing now.
Once you decide what you want to do you can always post your statement of accounts on the debt free board and see what suggestions can be made to help you cut down on your outgoings if that's going to make a DRO possible.
we work 6 hrs a day each, but spread over 13 hrs with times off during the day, it destroys our sleep patterns and complete rest. I am thinking to jsut quit from work fully, claim cont jsa and housing benefit( does that mean cont jsa and UC as my housing benefit is now part of UC, could i / we be sanctioned, does a sanction mean no housing benefit part of a UC claim or is housing help, never sanctioned if you resign from work.or is just the cont jsa be sanctioned?Brie said:Will your current employer allow you to work part time? surelt a DRO advisor cannot ask why you want to go from fulltime to pt/time? its my/our choice, as is the answer i got from national debt helpline, who said benefits dont have to be claimed in order to get a DRO.
we are not ill enough to be on the sick perm, we are jsut depressed and exhausted, with very short tempers, i lost the plot with boss on monday, over a small thing like a glass of orange juice, we have no union, i was offered some orange juice from the canteen staff for free,i was dehydrated, one canteen staff moaned, reported me and was disciplined for stealing free orange juice which i was offered!!!, my boss said " perhaps the job isnt for you" " there is water in the tap for free" Ive been there 3 yrs !! I told my boss to take f--k to themselves. I then said what is the notice period, or can i go pt/time, they said it is 4 weeks notice for either. This basically destroys the chance of a new job, as all the jobs i look for want me to start right away, they arent entertaining a 4 week wait !!
my work mates all work pt/time, are older and so lazy. my boss says, they are older, they have been there for yrs, they earned the right to go slow.!!!!! they are allowed to go slower than you.!!
unbelieveable. I say, i said, sack them all. Im 55, they are 65, they should be retired, but the bosses cant force them, they are malingerers.Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

my council process council tax support, but not housing benefit, its part of UC, i dont understand how someone could get rent sanction, a council home is for life, I used to work pt time 15 yrs ago and claimed housing benefit, i was happy enough on my small wage, got my rent paid. whats all this deal about housing benefit being part of UC.Spoonie_Turtle said:

Perhaps, a period off work for both you and your wife would relieve some of the stress that you are currently facing that is linked to the workplace.
Have you consulted your GP about whether they consider your stress levels sufficient to warrant a fit-note?Grumpy_chap said:

AIUI, Cont JSA (NS JSA as it is now) will be refused if you resigned from work of your own choice. NS JSA also requires that you are looking for work.stu12345_2 said:we work 6 hrs a day each, but spread over 13 hrs with times off during the day, it destroys our sleep patterns and complete rest. I am thinking to jsut quit from work fully, claim cont jsa and housing benefit( does that mean cont jsa and UC as my housing benefit is now part of UC, could i / we be sanctioned, does a sanction mean no housing benefit part of a UC claim or is housing help, never sanctioned if you resign from work.or is just the cont jsa be sanctioned?
Do you have any annual leave available?
Perhaps, a period off work for both you and your wife would relieve some of the stress that you are currently facing that is linked to the workplace.
Have you consulted your GP about whether they consider your stress levels sufficient to warrant a fit-note?
"You need to make it clear that a number of staff at certain JCP offices across the country are still threatening to stop claimants Housing Benefit by way of sanctions - this is illegal and wrong - JCP cannot sanction your HB or Council Tax benefit - they can only stop your JSA portion of around the princely sum of £73 a week."
You cannot claim Housing Benefit, you would be claiming UC which is subject to sanctions. None of it is ring-fenced from sanctions or other deductions.Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )
