Way I see it, if you're going to have to call Santander to authorise a held payment, you might as well call them up and do the transfer over the phone. No need to faff around with breaking the payment up into 2 transactions that way.
Registering your voice as your password beforehand should shorten some of the ckecking
I have said Registering your voice as your password beforehand should shorten some of the ckecking. Which is 100% true because you skip all the questions about DOB, address, last transactions and whatever else they are asking if you have not registered your voice as your password. So it is anything but a waste of time, and also something that you can make use of again and again.
I have just seen on the Santander website that they are asking all customers to register for Voice ID before September 2023 - so the OP might already be registered anyway.

Voice ID has been on offer for at least 2 years so you wouldn't be an early adopter. It's working very well.

An update:
I called Santander the day before I wanted to make payment and they confirmed that max online payment was £25000 per day. But that I could make up to 100k faster payments by phone.
So I called back the next day and made the payment that way. (Voice ID must have been set up already) it took about 45 minutes to get through the security questions and then get a call back to complete payment.
However it was all easy enough and the payment wasn't blocked!
Today I attempted to call YBS to get the payment allocated to the correct part of the mortgage. This wasnt as straight forward as the Santander call yesterday.
It took 3 attempts each time with a wait time of 40 minutes in the queue. The first time I gave up. The second time I got disconnected after getting through security. Third time was finally successful!
Glad its all finally sorted now though.Ex Sg27 (long forgotten log in details)Massive thank you to those on the long since defunct Matched Betting board.2
