*Stands up straighter as she reads about posture *I’m sure someone on Freegle, Olio or Freecycle would be able to make use of the paint - and possibly the table too. Worth asking if it saves you arranging the council to take the table away.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Such a productive weekend! Is it worth listing any of the stuff especially table and chairs on Olio or FBM etc in case someone wants to pick it up and can save you the time and cost of getting rid?
Hidden London tour plus extra things sounds exciting!8 -
I'm with themadvix here. I immediately sat up straighter. I'm not toooo bad when standing but when sitting I really do slouch & it isn't good for my back or my digestion.

I think we all sat up a bit after reading the posture comment!
I agree about seeing if someone will take the table. My folks had a dining table that they put on Fr33cycle. It was gone within a half hour.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

We got our massive 8 foot long oak dining table off fr33cycle when we moved here so another vote for that, although you do have to be willing to arrange to be in!6

Ooh the table getting offered on Freecycle is possibly a decent shout actually TMV/PiP/GAP - not sure why I'd not thought of that! The paint we can easily just shift to the tip with the other stuff on Saturday and then if someone wants to lift it from there they will be very welcome! Quite a bit of the smaller tins appears to be the mustard yellow that we overpainted on the living room panelled wall pretty much as soon as we moved in! The table will need dismantling whatever we do with it - and would need a van for someone to take away, that's the only issue I guess - the risk of people thinking "oh it will go in the car" then realising when they get to us to collect that it won't... The chairs are well and truly past it (and proved remarkably easy to take apart and flatten) so those can just go to the tip at some stage anyway.
Cheery - last bits I freecycled I just said would be left outside at the relevant time - that way loading up etc is the collector's issue! They'd be left out if the council were going to collect anyway. having seen pictures of your table that was a proper win you got there wasn't it!
Bizarrely BM even I sat up straighter reading all you lot's posture related "sits up straighter" comments - perhaps all that's needed is for someone to just mention it once a day and we'll all be better in no time! My other classic is sitting with legs crossed or a leg tucked underneath me - I'm sure that this is one of the factors affecting my back - without question it's been feeling a lot better since I focused on all these things anyway!
MSE Stuff:
- Payday for MrEH today - with an extra amount for the NI changes of course. Oh and my payslip finally appeared and I am just over £10 owed so Madam Boss will sort that later. She was horribly embarrassed but as I pointed out she was trying to be helpful! (And I suspect also not realising having never dealt with that side of things until the last few months that it changes slight every so often anyway - I'm actually 20p out on a previous month I have now noticed but I'm not going to fret about 20p!) I think my plan for my additional amount will actually be to ask for my pension contribution to be increased slightly - for MrEH's some of it will be heading for our new "Garden fund" pot, and the rest will probably just help with things like increased council tax etc...
- Took advantage of my passenger status on the commute this morning to get the money shuffle done for my pay anyway so my personal pots are filled, the joint account has been paid, and the OP pot has it's additional £60 dropped into it - that will allow a £100 OP in the next few days. Must remember to deal with my N@t10nwide St@rt 2 S@ve account tomorrow.
- Still no cheap train tickets for our travel back from Scotland in April - hoping that will just be a few more days now though.
- A saving on diesel as I have decided against a trip to Waddington on Friday - the weather forecast looks grey and cloudy and I already have a quite busy weekend so leaving it a week seems like a plan - R1 concurs that as far as he knows there is no reason not to delay (he helpfully lets me know if they are not planning on flying when I've said I might trek up there, bless him). Might tie in better with my Pal's work shifts as well - if she's on her regular shifts I think she'll be going into her first night shift the following Friday rather than in between them as she would have been this week. I'll probably still put some more diesel in the car as it's more convenient to do that this week, but won't be using much of it until the following week now.
- Reminded MrEH yet again that there is a letter he needs to send to HMRC relating to his pension contributions. Frankly I'm losing all hope of him ever doing it but there you go!
- Just done a quick fag packet calculation on the likely level of the new Council Tax - I suspect we will see roughly another £35 a month payable (ours was lower than expected when we moved into the house as we'd a small credit owed because of what we had already paid for the year...) That extra on MrEH's NI is now looking helpful!
- Paid the £500 deposit for the solar and battery installation yesterday - and have the phone appointment booked to discuss tomorrow. we still can't decide on the battery size mind you!
Other stuff:
- As referenced above, the posture stuff does seem to be helping.
- Also - I am keeping up with the yoga and really enjoying that 20 - 25 minutes each evening so will try to keep that going. I'm onto day 8 of the 2024 30 day challenge for today which other YWAer's will know is A Very Good Thing!
- Another "small habit" is just trying to have a quick tidy round each evening just to leave surfaces a bit clearer and things like wiping the sink down. I did look at Flylady again but the sheer amount of "stuff" it suggests doing each day is just overwhelming for me - I'm not going to be coming home from work on a monday evening, eating tea, then cracking on with cleaning out my kitchen bin at 8pm or later! (And that is just level 1!) Right now I'm calling just a few things each evening a win - it's definitely making a difference to the way the kitchen looks.
- Might nip into BeeAndEmm on Friday and see if I can get a basket that will take MrEH's random odds and ends that end up on the island. Allowing I'm not going to cure them being left there, them being contained is the next bet thing. I don't think I have anything that will do the job, and I do also want a new jar and bottle holder for the fridge as well so can get that at the same time.
- Need to put together a meal plan and a shopping list...

And let's be honest, the dismal greyness of January means it feels FARRRRR longer than just the 5 weeks!
A small MSE win - I noted yesterday that a missed cashback ticket I have in with TCB had still not been paid out on, so rather than "giving them a nudge" which I did in November, I decided to actually send a message. Today I got a message from them saying that rather than waiting for the retailer, they had decided to just pay it out. It's only £4.43 - but it's £4.43 which will shortly be in MY pocket!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well done on the nudge and quite rightly better off in your pocket. I'm just waiting for all the DDs to come out tomorrow and they have another look at the situation.
