...Mortgage balance currently stands at £111,358.04 - so I'd like to OP £158.04 at the end of the month...

...we're of a mind to go in spite of "How Low Can we go January"...
EH - the lack on "0's" at the end of that figure would drive me to distraction - I'd be tempted to take off the 4 p right away & maybe even the 8 before even attempting the 150!!! - Tilly tidying is so addicting! 😉😊

We are failing miserably at the January challenge, as everything seems to be running out all at once!  At least we know these are things we need and use on a regular basis so not all is lost!

@enthusiasticsaver definitely recommended to keep the house warm if someone has heart problems.

EH - definitely look after yourself on the warmth front. You would tell all of us to be that person so you need to take your own medicine on that one and speak up at work. No point it exacerbating a health condition.

I had a really good year on the heating last year - but to the point I probably went a bit too far. This year I seem to have done the oppositive and gone too far the other way - but I think that's a combination of illness, stress and being on different meds so trying to take the rough with the smooth and just go with it for now.

I read an article in The Times yesterday by their resident GP contributor who was writing about how cold weather affects one. He commented that those who suffer from Reynaud's should definitely keep warm!  Get the Powers That Be to turn up the heating up in the office EH!😳

EH - being cold in the office is not on!  Please do speak up especially as it is a health condition.

If the powers that be can't/won't adjust the heat, you might want to try one of these heating pads.  I bought myself one last week as my desk in the office is under a vent and above a cold void under the floorboards. It plugs in via usb & has made a huge difference to my cold extremities!  For me it solves the problem of working in a heritage building with all the quirks that entails.

I've been tempted by one of the USB car seat heaters for my desk at home 😂 And for one of the cars which currently has very intermittent heating 🙄😂 Definitely in the canp of encouraging you to get the office heating turned up if possible! Ours at home is doing my nut. At the minute it's been on 18 all day and the thermostat (in the warmest part of the house) still says 11 - it's not exactly like a sauna in here but I'm pretty sure it's warmer than 11 degrees 😂
  • I find the fingerless gloves really help with my poor circulation and blue fingers, but they also give a fairly strong hint that the office temperature is wrong. I used to wear contrasting layers with the gloves just peaking out and a thin circular scarf (pretty patterned rather than big wool!) pulling the colours together so it looked professional enough.

i had a look last night and saw some easy to knit free patterns so I may give that a go while I have some free time
  • Another vote for mentioning the office temperature.  It's never easy to get agreement on this (the only thing worse is which radio station, which I have seen bring grown, professional adults to snarling incoherent rage) but people in outdoor wear means the bottom of the range is too low and health conditions should be prioritised.
