    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Just for you, EH: video here

I feel your pain about spending at the moment... there's always something and it's not frittery, but ... I don't tend to worry about NSDs as we're fairly disciplined, but I was so happy to have one yesterday! And today I've already been out and spent nearly £30 and still need a couple of bits, including bananas which I could easily have got earlier!

@EH - If you want more hydrangeas, they are so easy to grow from cuttings. When we moved to our present home a while ago, there were at least 8 hydrangeas in the garden, the largest of them needing quite severe pruning. At the time, I needed a strong stick to support a plant so used one of the thick stems that I had cut from a hydrangea, stuck it in the ground & tied it to the plant needing support. A few weeks later, the stem in the ground developed buds & is now yet another hydrangea covered in flowers.
Your hydrangea sounds lovely, a paniculata by the description. KA
