Oh that's horrid about the car - hope it's an easy (& cheap) fix!
We never shop 'in' the indian-food store, but I have purchased several items from them online, when they've actually proven cheaper than both the big river site & land'o'lakes. Also won some security cameras from them recently, which we have yet to mount! Their remote customer service has been excellent, but we've found the instore staff barely have a braincell between them! The last big purchase I made from them ended up being online simply because the staff in-store could not answer a single question about either of the brands I was considering buying!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Agree that this can be a problem in the store under discussion, @rtandon27. I find our local branch a lacklustre environment. Yes, they might have nice new shiny stuff on display, but it is displayed in the least imaginative or aspirational manner possible. It doesn't make for an environment which I particularly want to visit for browsing. The staff need to be properly clued up on tech to work there if they are to provide a decent level of customer service & they don't seem to be. Possibly minimum wage & high staff turnover? I don't know. Mr F does use them now & again for minor bits of tech, cables, etc, but I think he has on occasion felt like the most knowledgeable person in the shop.

I can confirm that I did not physically enter the indian food themed electrical store to purchase either item. I am impressed with their delivery speed though - the heater is allegedly turning up today!
Pretty sure Mrs F is right about the minimum wage situation too.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

@foxgloves & @EssexHebridean - haha - yes I'm sure you are both correct about minimum wage, our staff all look as if they are teenagers doing a part-time job - I know it's hoping for too much, but I'd love it if they were tech geeks!
We do as much as possible try and frequent the local independent techy store but they are so techy that they will build you something to your spec rather than source a brand name! Rather handy when trying to extend the life of our out of warranty desktop and laptop, but completely useless for sourcing the latest and greatest at a decent price!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! @beanielou - yes!
We are fortunate it seems that the staff at ours are ok, albeit we’ve not asked them many trying questions. And I can’t complain as the last time we went there we bought an item for £30 and got 6 months of fruity TV free - worth more than the item!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Our Indian themed store branch is dire. Whenever we've been tgere and actually found a staff member to ask about a product they read the display label out to us. Last visit, and I mean the last time we visited and that it will be our last visit we were told it's easier to buy the item on line. Err it was a kettle and we needed it because our kettle had broken.Hope the car is a quick and inexpensive fix. So frustrating when it goes from working fine to not working overnight.6

We ended up buying our fridge at their online shop 3 years ago when the AofO let us down in a big way. In contrast to our experience with the latter, the two young guys who delivered the fridge were amazing and made sure it was in, unwrapped and levelled as a matter of courtesy and not because they had to! It's almost as if the online store is a separate entity to the in person one!
We recently tried to buy a Jaws in person and gave up as the one that was on sale was of course the only one not on display in the store! The sales staff could not even tell me which one it was closest to. We ended up buying from JL online as their return policy was incredible & no quibble which meant if it was too heavy or awkward, it could go back via the local Waitflower.
@Blackcats - at least they could read 😉😁 - all the ones at our local do is gas all day!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
