how do I work out my baseload? Can I take the average kw overnight (after car has charged)So the half hours are showing usage of 0.08 to 0.11. So if I take 0.1 as an average per half hour, would my baseload be 0.2 kw per hour ?4 -
I count my baseload as what I use without anything particular like the dw turned on, so my daytime & overnight ones are different.

I am feeling v lazy by not getting involved in these energy tariff apps as everyone on here seems to beDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I’d agree with Badmemory re baseload. It’s about 108W for us during the day (laptop on, but nothing else). The lack of sunshine has been dire - we’ve not covered the baseload this week. Badmemory, what do you mean the battery is lower than it should go? You should be able to set it to stop discharging at 4% or similar - it’s not good for battery life to get right down to emptyMortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

For base load, if you're lazy like me one of the smart meter data processing apps will tell you. I use Octopus Compare, which tells me mine's 30 watts, when I'm away it reduces to more like 20watts4

I also use Octopus compare - baseload is 25watts for the last week, 39 watts for the month. I'm considering paying for a year's subscription.
I'm going to need to do some laundry at some point, so hoping there are a couple of reasonable slots tonight that I can at least try to schedule the water heating in (although with the 'finish in' option rather than delayed start, it can be difficult to predict when the cycle will actually start!).4 -
It took me an embarassingly long time to realise that it wasn't just that my machine can't tell the time but that the delay setting is finish at not start at! I probably should have glanced at the instructions at least once5
