  • Sorry I have a daft question… if I pick annual interest, but say take the money out after 9 months, I assume I still get the interest but at 5.08%?

You will get interest paid at 5.2% for those, and only those 9 months.

    No, it's 5.20% AER/Gross. You will get 5.20% for 9 months
You will have to wait 12 months unless you close the account

I told you it was daft! Thanks for explaining, I was getting myself confused,

I’m a higher rate tax payer with a fix ending this tax year that’s already taking me over my PSA. So would prefer to push the interest into the next tax year.. and if I need to take some/most of the money out in 9 months, I’m ok to wait for the interest until 12 months.

Please excuse the silly question,I selected to have the interest paid monthly, on looking at the account it says 5.08% interest, no where on the paper work I have it says it is being paid monthly, can I asumme it will be monthly.

    thank you
On the web page when you look at the account it will say
"Product name: EASY ACCESS SAVER LIMITED EDITION (ISSUE 3) (M)"

The (M) shows monthly interest, annual would end with (A)
  • Just opened the new easy access saver via my online account. Up and running within minutes.
However wanted it to be joint account but was not given the option when applying.
Any body else in this situation.
Tried ringing them waited 15 minutes and when got to the important bit the call cleared down.
    Thanks to all that replied.
I think my problem was I applied whilst logged in to my on line account.
It did not give me an option to add another name.
I can see that if applying normally there is an option.

Can you change interest from annual to monthly?

I chose annual but now kind of regret it!

Still available as of last night btw, I filled in the form and am an existing Santander customer - it was listed under my accounts and ready to use in under 5 mins.

    • Interest is calculated daily and added to this account annually or monthly. Once the frequency has been chosen (annual or monthly interest), this can’t be changed.
    Close and reopen?

On the other thread, some people have cancelled their annual account and have opened a new monthly one.
    And visa versa.
