Quick one - would anyone know whether debit card payments to IWeb are available instantly please or do they take a day or two to be available to invest?
Instant (or within a few seconds) in my experience.

I took advantage of their £100 fee waiver and opened an account.  Then, I transferred my last year's holdings from HL to iWeb; this took just under seven working days.

Funnily enough that's what I did and it took 7 days.

It was cash in HL which may have helped but I was stunned (in a good way) at how quick it was.

@Aminatidi I hope HL rationalise their fees. Although their fees is capped at £45 when you hold shares and ETFs it's still not good enough.

I also opened an account whilst it's free but I have no immediate plans to use it beyond sticking a tenner into it in the hope that it will not get closed by them. I'm likely to be reorganising a few investments next year and iWeb is one of the possible players..

It seems fine.  The website does feel a bit rough and ready even compared to HL.  I made a payment of £20K and didn't get an email confirmation and couldn't see a single reference anywhere on the IWeb website which was a bit concerning but it showed up overnight.

I might take a different view if it wasn't clearly and obviously owned by Lloyds/Halifax.

You may find that they return your tenner and close the account.

That's fine if they choose to do that. If not, then they might see more investment at some point. I have no strong opinion on using them but there is no way I'd ever shell out £100 just to open an account with them. They are not that special.
