Your last para has hit the nail.
The answer is 15 p for the metered "export". OR it might be 5.4 p. OR again 4.1 p. depending on which web page you are looking at. You pays your money and takes your choice. I really don't think that presentation wise Octopus have won themselves any awards on this one.

Tks for confirming that. As I said it seemed to me to be counter productive to move the "generation" part of my FIT to Octopus. But it is none too clear how to go about transferring just the "deemed export" part alone which may not be the default procedure. I have seen a ref to 5.4 p / kWh somewhere but ...where?
Contact Octopus and tell them you want to move from FIT export (with another supplier) to SEG export.

They’ll send you a web form to fill out and explain the process. Choose the option to just move FIT export to SEG export and leave the generation payments with your current supplier. There’s three options on the form, can’t remember the exact wording.

at some point you’ll be instructed to give your fit provider a final meter reading and date of that reading

theyll then pay you the final export payment and they’ll get the central database updated to show you no longer claim fit export

when that is done, octopus will be able to start paying you SEG export.

The whole process might take a month or two depending on how good the existing supplier is.

Might be one to start in September- e.g. to avoid a gap between FIT export stopping and SEG starting during sunny months!

I think it's reasonable clear on that matrix. Your choices depend on what import tariff you're on.

Which is it? I have idea it may be Tracker, but may be misremembering.

    (a) If you're not with Octopus at all for import, only 4.1p is available
    (b) If you're on any import tariff except Go or Flux (either version) you can get 15p, or outgoing Agile.

    (a) is probably regulatory, they probably have to offer that as a minimum even to people who aren't your customers.
    (b) presumably because Go would allow import at a cheaper rate than export. And because Flux is a combined import/export tariff.

Tks for spelling out the procedure.
Hopefully the process will be straightforward. For import I am on Tracker. I'd like to know the terms / price per unit before committing myself.

Situation is that my FIT deemed 50% export is earning me 6.69 p. If I switch just that to SEG  Outgoing Fixed and get 15 p for the actual export then I'm quids in. If however the rate is 5.4 p or even 4.1 p then it is by no means an obvious choice.  I think Octopus could do a better job in making the distinctions unambiguous. Or I'm slow on the uptake. Is anyone any clearer?

Seems pretty clear to me. You are already an Octopus customer, on Tracker, so can have Outgoing Fixed at 15p

I uncovered an info page with 15 p on also. But in the course of my research I hit on another source saying 5.4 p (and another saying 4.1p). If it turned out to be 5.4 I could imagine it being a mega-hassle to reverse the change. Worth getting a ruling from Octopus via Twitter on before taking the leap.

Quick reply via Twitter today, confirming that the rate is 15 p. No complaints. I hope no more questions asked
