I did start the application for this but between the nsandi website and their constant cookies message and the deposit restriction of only paying in by debit card I decided against it.
Opened a 6.1% 1 yr fixed thorugh Raisin. A lot simpler, all 3 deposits to my max amount done via faster payments. For the hassle of nsandi for the extra 0.1% I'm happy to forgo that0 -
Use Chrome - I opened 3 tonight with no hassle (admittedly after issues with MS Edge). They all show funded as at now - so appear to pay interest immediately from the date the debit card transaction is accepted - immediately I've made the payment it's in the opened account dated today (13th) on my dashboard.0

You can also deposit from the NS&I Direct Saver. Yes, I am considering this as an alternative. I hesitated becuase I have not heard of them before. I will weigh up the options and go for one or the other early next week.huw01 said:I did start the application for this but between the nsandi website and their constant cookies message and the deposit restriction of only paying in by debit card I decided against it.

I was using chrome on a chromebook. The nsandi website has always had this constantly accept cookies on every page, I have premium bonds and I always had this issue with their website.soulsaver said:Use Chrome - I opened 3 tonight with no hassle (admittedly after issues with MS Edge). The deposit by debit card I'm not keen on, and as a big provider they really should be accepting faster pamynets. nah I've passed on the extra 0.1% interest.0 -
I have been using the NS&I site several times a month for a number of years. I use either Chrome or Edge or IE, on Windows and on iOS, and I can’t honestly remember any constant cookie issues. My browsers are essentially vanilla - the only extension I use is a password manager. There has recently been a general issue with NS&I on iOS Chrome - I don’t know whether they have fixed this now.huw01 said:

Deposits by Faster Payment, including “Pay By Bank” into the Direct Saver work like a dream. It’s easy to make an internal transfer from there to other NS&I accounts. I find them easier, faster and perhaps safer than Raisin, for instance.

I have funds sitting in the NS&I Direct Saver account and intend to open up a one year growth bond asap. Can anyone confirm whether or not the bond will be opened immediately (even if evening or weekend) or will I have to wait until the next working day?
Thanks0 -
Should be instant. Both mine were visible in my dashboard as soon as I looked at it each time. I don't know about weekends as I've never tried it but as it seems to be fully automatic I'd imagine it would be the same

Happy days, the bond is still available so took the plunge today! Very easy and straightforward.caeler said:I’ve got a fixed rate bond ending with Atom on 14 September. This would be perfect for me to move the money into. I’d fixed a year ago at 3.2%! Do we think this product will still be on offer on 14 September?!0
