No, you pay as part of the application. You can open multiple bonds. 30 days cooling off thoughSeriousHoax said:Hi, once you sign up to this account, do you get so many days to fund the account.

Tried to open this bond with funds held in a Nationwide Flex account but had repeated failures using Firefox on a Win 11 laptop. Account details were correct and are used regularly without problems. Eventually and reluctantly switched to using an Android phone which worked perfectly. Anyone else had similar problems?

Was about to open one but noticed Aldermore are offering a 6.2% 3 yr bond for customers with soon to mature bonds. Prefer 3 yrs to 1 yr so went with Aldermore.2

I did similar a while ago when rates were doo-doo. Fixed in at like 2.25% or whatever it was for just over a year at the time. Standard savings rates were way below this & obviously had been for some time.Speculator said:Was about to open one but noticed Aldermore are offering a 6.2% 3 yr bond for customers with soon to mature bonds. Then shortly after I did this, things started to get a bit silly & soon my 2.25% was dwarfed & I was left waiting on maturity date so I could pull the money from there pronto - having missed out on what would then be many months of much higher rates.
Who knows eh.......0 -
This bond is only for a year.
If interest rates are predicted to come down next year and you don't need the money for a few years it might make sense to look at 2 or 3 year bonds paying slightly less but still around 6%.0 -
It tells you on the N.S.+I website what browsers will and won't work.B91 said:Tried to open this bond with funds held in a Nationwide Flex account but had repeated failures using Firefox on a Win 11 laptop.
