((Hugs)) @Thrifty_Taylor - I hope you feel better soon7
-
hugs thriftyTaylor and anyone else who needs one. I'm alternately sweating and shivering so put my nightie on and stayed where I was. Couldn't find the offer (maybe I was still asleep and dreaming when I found it but ordered the toilet rolls and a few bits (vitamins, one lamp the same as the one I already have (about 5 years old and never been any trouble) and some bits for the chinchillas to make up some offers (5% off). No food order because soup is my friend atm. Lovely lovely soup.
Finished my jigsaw puzzle (in the donation pile), watched a film with Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton, read a little more. Used the Council website but the site went fritzy after I'd entered my items (system error means it's their fault doesn't it). My bed is 3 items (base, mattress and headboard) but no rush, I have started the process.
Grateful for throat sweets, soup and jigsaws7 -

A very long and frustrating day today!
Started nicely, I had my morning coffee in the bath, never done that before as a way to start the day but it was lovely! I sorted out some life admin, moving a bit of money around, paid the cc bill, bought a couple of small things I needed for aquarium maintenance and made a charity donation.
Logged on to work and apent a few hours catching up on stuff. Then had a couple of meetings where I was essentially shouted at by a parent the entire time because I couldn't secure her funding for something she wanted, failing to recognise all the other things I've been able to secure for her child. Felt very frustrated at the end of the day as I also received a very rude email from another professional on behalf of said parent which accused me of doing things I hadn't done. Even though I know I can't do anything about it now it's still bugging me...
Anyway... I'm on call for the evening, popped to the gym after work for a bit but it was pretty busy so couldn't do everything I wanted. Will try and get a few chores done this evening unless I get called in!6 -
Today I am grateful for my body being able to do what I ask of it, for a neighbour cutting the front lawns for us and a few other neighbours, for dc managing the important part of the day at school, for still finding blackberries that are worth picking, for dh cooking steak and hm chips for our anniversary (22 years), for the rugby world cup giving me an opportunity to appreciate the fine examples of legs on show.

Good Morning ⛅
Had a few days absence (hitting the dip on the rollercoaster that is my life haha) but have come back up swiftly so yay!!! Big hugs to people suffering with colds/flu 🤧 and extra hug for Icc and the work stress, and thrifty - your life sounds crazy mad right now. Hugs to anyone I missed!!
Had my bathroom ceiling re-done (for like the 5th time) by building landlords after a leak almost 12 months ago from the flat above. So far it is looking ok - I'm hoping the last botched job was just the wrong shade of white and not damp that left me with a two-tone ceiling. This one looks ok. Will just have to keep an eye. Took myself out for a nice walk in the park again to escape the fumes.
Yesterday/Today I am grateful for:
1) Friendly smiley people on my park walk 🌳
2) Potato cakes - just because they're so yum (random I know!)
3) My latest computer RPG which is AWESOME 🤩
Thursday was a spend day
Yesterday = NSD number 5
I'm almost out of milk so may need to have another spend day today.
Have a great Saturday everyone!!! x

Hi turtles 🐢 quiet on here today!
I was on call again today and got called in first thing, finished at about 1 (just thinking of all that lovely overtime money!).
Got some washing done and then went to the gym for a bit before getting a nice veggie lasagne on the go for dinner. OH has come back from his holiday this afternoon so the house is busy (and messy) again!8 -
Busy but quite a happy day. DS3 and Beloved went to Manchester to do Hen Party activities (Crystal Maze) so I was able to get on without people getting underfoot or stealing my couch. Parcels expected so came downstairs. Finished my library book and after checking the expected delivery time for the parcels I took 3 books back (I have another but it was upstairs). Had a quick look round the shelves but then had to make a strategic exit to get back home quickly.
Lots of rubbish and recycling has been sorted into the correct bins (been to the can bin 3 times - one sack from upstairs, one from the front room and a third oddments added to the ones that fell out of the sack by the back gate - the perils of multi-tasking - I had a bag with library books and my purse, a bag to sit on as I was using the old walker which was last used for moving large planters, a sack with cans plus 2 pizza boxes and 2 broken lever arch files).
Put washing in the machine, threw a disgusting towel outside - the one I threw at the rapidly expanding puddle when the WM malfunctioned. It was very wet and squishy and also very dirty because I've been walking across it in wellies rather than my bare feet. I think I'll let it get rained on a couple of times before deciding if it's worth saving (it's an old one and has been used several times for WM, under the sink and 'someone left the freezer door open' leaks - all 3 at once on one memorable occasion).
I've emptied the DW and hidden everything in my small filing cabinet which is right next to the DW so no trekking back and forth across the kitchen. Someone had taken my old garden chairs onto the car park so went to bring those back this evening. Parcels came and that packaging was added to the 2 paper sacks.
Finished my frog letter, phoned my brother to come and collect it, sign it and deliver it. Had to leave a message (hope he's not gone away for the weekend). He phoned me back later on - he's in St Annes and not coming home until next Friday. I have his permission to sign as his agent. Watched some of my escapist series and read a little bit of my new book. Sat down and have started my cross-stitch. My hand still shakes and sometimes I can't find the place to go but it's good on the whole.
They've just arrived home after 14 hours out of the house - gone straight upstairs to collapse on their beds. Grateful for completing the frog letter (but I'll have to deliver it now - may have to be a taxi), getting things done, space in the kitchen (will soon be able to clean the floor rather than sweeping strips I've cleared), escapist drama and good books, cross stitch (may have done too much as I have a crick in my neck). Going to put the last few things on the line and go to bed. DW will have to wait until tomorrow (most of the things need a soak or a scrub first)7 -
Other volunteering at the repair cafe and having my covid and flu injections, not done a lot today. Cycled to both events as trying to cut down on how much I use the car. Another nsd 8# I think.
Grateful for
1) it didn't rain and nature's tumble drier dried my washing.
2) people giving up their time to help reduce things going to landfill (repair cafe)
3) most of my dinner was grown on the allotment.
