Good control Pigpen.
Well August fired its parting shot today - a parking fine arrived in the post from the night I took Mr N to A&E (rather than wait 10hrs for an ambulance). Yes, I parked in a dropoff area while I ran in to get a wheelchair. Yes, it took 1hr 2 mins to find one/check him in etc. Then I moved the car to a proper parking place, which I paid for. Luckily I made a point of printing a receipt so I'm going to appeal.
Flew in the en suite today, I don't know how it gets so dusty! Mind you, I caught Mr N wielding a feather duster on the outside of the house today ......admittedly on the outside of a window.
Did a bit of bedroom tidying.
Went to Pilates then had a short swim practice.
Culled some emails.
Liaised with my DB, Mum and BIL about Mum's birthday present.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Glad to have you back, pigpen x
We're home again too. I have unpacked and put everything away except the dirty washing. There were no tomatoes ready to pick (hopefully our NNDN helped herself to the 'missing' ones) but I did find a handful of runner and climbing French beans. I have also finalised my budget for September and moved a little money across into an easy-access savings account towards Christmas and birthday gifts over the next 12 months.
It's cold here, compared to 80 miles further south, and after lunch I had to put the heating on for an hour to warm the house up before my body shut down completely - even though I was wearing a warm long-sleeved top over a T-shirt, body warmer, leggings and socks! Rosie and I had a walk along the lane between showers, and she enjoyed a mad half-hour with her toys this evening. I cooked; DH made coffee and WULTD.
Tomorrow I must concentrate on
- the monthly financial update
- various text messages, emails and phonecalls
- WMx2
- Action Heart
- refilling the fridge
- sorting out my old computer for K, having been gifted a monitor for her - but I need to get an adaptor for the lead that connects it to the PC
I'd love to raise a mug of mulled wine and wish everyone a good new year, but hope a cuppa will have the same effect xxx7 -
I read my meters. Off to load DW for the second run.. we still have no clean forks.. I ate my pasta with a spoon like a toddler!OH can make a cuppa and I will also load the WM's.. I am taking my cuppa to bed.. I love my bed.. I have missed it very muchTwinkle is at optician tomorrow (2pm I think)

Good Morning All
Happy New Year from ASB land! 8 degrees here, not set to rise above 13 today...
Piggers - so pleased to have you back. I am sorry that people are such utter twerks, you are more controlled than me!!
Narco - definitely appeal. When the nightmare with DD started earlier this year, I left my car outside A&E in a "non official" spot for 7 hours. I had no choice - no porters, no help, she couldn't walk, needed a wheelchair, and didn't want to be left alone in A&E even for a few mins so I could move it. I told the security staff and they told me not to worry at all, tickets were at their discretion. Hopefully they will see sense for your ticket and demonstrate some empathy and kindness xx
Working until lunchtime. I also have a nurse appointment, and a treat of a massage which I am paying for with egg sales money which I can't wait for. It's a local lady who does it, £20 for an hour, local beautician's want £55 plus for an hour!!
Just cancelled my (unused) overdraft facility, daft as it sounds feels like a small win against the big banks even though I don't even use it! Also shuffled £1 into my ISA, just to check it works.
Right I had better wake DS up, we need to leave at 8am and I need to deal with lots of laundry folding before then, shower and dress! x7 -
Morning all xx
Happy New Year 🍾 🥂 🥳
and Happy Birthday to me 🎂. I'm up and testing out how it feels to be 63. It's OK so far 😊
I've made my bed, supped a brew, and opened my cards and presents: an owl from Pops (ornament not a real one!), and a mug, hot chocolate, marshmallows and a book from L (perfect for the -ber months). Cider and chocolates from P & S ..... I already ate the chocolates shhhhh (didn't see the point of nipping to C00p and buying chocolate when I knew there was some already in the house. 😉)
Love to all my flylady friends ❤

Happy new year from me, too. We have rain atm, though it’s due to brighten up later. Finer weather forecast for the weekend so i shall remove the washing from the WM and fold it and bide my time.
Off to the paid stuff today. Need to collect the laundry on my way in. I can post a sympathy card to bil at the same time, his dad died. After work i need to collect my prescriptionDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
