@Round… log into .gov.uk to check your state pension forecast.
I have been to the aged Ps, borrowed a workbench and a plane, and shaved off some of my bedroom door as it was catching on the carpet.

Round - I am so flipping proud of you. You have made great progress and should be so proud of yourself. Sending you a huge hug and some spare braves. Can you opt to switch you gas & elec to payment on receipt of bill? I don’t ‘do’ direct debits anymore as a rule and feel so much more in control xx9

Round I am celebrating my 10 year anniversary at my workplace this week too but I am further away from retirement than you. Generally I enjoy my job but being the boss is hard and pretty lonely at times. Sending you moral support and hugs xx
Like a few of us I really need to get my finances back on track for the last 3 months of the year. I have a new app to track my spending.
So, today, cycled in at 7am and back at 3pm. Flew for half an hour, had half an hour with my book, then food and back to the paid stuff.
That pup is adorable Pigpen!
Bedtime soon.8 -
@Asparklierblonde I too pay on receipt of bill. I like to be in control of what's going out of my bank account - glad it's not only me that feels that way 😊
@Valli - I tried to check my state pension forecast a while ago and couldn't get anywhere with it. I'll try again, but not having a passport made it complicated when I tried the last time.
@YORKSHIRELASS Happy work anniversary 🥂.
Thank you for the spare braves, moral support and hugs. ❤❤

Morning all,
Love and posi vibes to everyone. Round - I am re-doing my budget this week then will be posting on the Frugal Living thread so I'll keep you company over there
Animals fed, pigs dinner boiling on the hob (yes they are spoilt), WULTD. AF rocked up last night so between that and my lovely haemorroid issues (can't even spell it!) I want to sit in a bath all day. Sadly that isn't an option so I'll just waddle all day. TMI!!!
Take care all xx8 -
Morning xx
asb - great. It'll be lovely to have a familiar face to keep me company 😊 (obviously not great that you're waddling, bless you 😘)
Note to self: making future financial calculations immediately before bedtime is not conducive to sleep 🤣 Thank you so much Valli for the prompt to check my state pension forecast again. Last time it wouldn't accept that I existed - which was somewhat perturbing, not to mention extremely frustrating. This time, armed with my driving licence and P60, I had no problems at all. A little more G00gle research and suddenly the future is brighter 😊
So. I'm aiming for retirement on 1st February 2027....which is 3 years and 5 months from this Friday. Not that I'll be counting of course....who am I kidding. I'm counting. 😊
I also calculated that during my 10 years in post I've worked in 14 different offices in 5 different buildings, and the job that I do now is barely recognisable to the job I started with. So I am obviously more resilient that I think I am....and they can bring their changes in 💪.
And I also realised that the worst thing that I can do is hide from the thread when I most need your support and guidance. 🤦♀️
Like I said - not much sleep 🤣
Anyhoo. I'm up, made my bed, supped my first brew and WM is swishing towels/ tea towels.
Brew 2 and breakfast next.
Much love to all

We had a good trip to Wales yesterday, despite the rain, to visit DH's cousins. Today DS2 and DDiL are both working, so we are taking DGS3+4 out to a local NT property which they like, and I'm cooking this evening. Home tomorrow.
(((Hugs))), spoons, sticks and braves to all, as needed xxx Hope pigpen and ON are ok xx

Thank you iona 😊
I've supped brew 2 and eaten breakfast, got dressed, fed the birds, put out the recycling, pegged out the towels and tea towels, put away the pots that were LTD at the weekend, and WULTD .... but only while I have a coffee, then I'll DUPA.
My orchid has a new stalk for flowers growing. Again. It obviously likes being on the kitchen windowsill and thrives on random attention (I do water it occasionally....at very random intervals!)

Hello.
Back to paid stuff today. I have done dailies, walked Poppet for an hour, done some weeding, sorted finances for September (I must be really good and stick to budget), and hoovered through.
Round - you've just reminded me to water my one houseplant.Spend less now, work less later.7
