Finances in Married Relationship - Should Spouses Support Each Other?

How long have they been together / been married?
I don't think there is a simple right or wrong , people have different assumptions and expectations within relationships and while ideally, these would be things you'd talk about before you got married, that often doesn't happen.
I think *most* couples would take the view that they are team, an that that doesn't mean that everything has to b split exactly equally regardless of changes in circumstances or differences in finances, as long as both can feel that the other is being supportive and that you are working together.
Situations like this are one of the reasons why I feel it can work better to have some joint finances, perhaps having everything go into a joint 'pot' with each of you then taking out a set about for personal 'fun' spending - it helps you think of money being 'ours' not 'mine' while also meaning you aren't paying for the other's hobbies or expensive habits.
BUT you can't force someone to think differently.
IT sounds as though you don't have very effective communication and you might find it useful to consider going to RELATE or a similar service to try to help you to discuss these issues and improve your communication, and to talk about what each of you wants and expects from the relationship. It may be that you are so far apart on this issue that you are no longer compatible. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
OP, talking about persons A and B is quite hard to follow. It would be easier if you gave them names (fake if needed) and/or admitted that you are one of the people.0
