EDF are extremely incompetent with their customer service since when?!!!!!! (Can't spell / No logic)

At least you know the emails are sent by a person & not a bot. A lot of EDF’s advisors are off shore so English is not necessarily their first language. I wish I was the manager who was calling you back, you sound real charmer - hope I haven’t done any spelling mistakes 😬1

What is the name of the tariff you are on OpolE? And as dealyboy has asked what times should the off peak rate be for your region?0

Ignoring the CS discussion, the OP's problem is stated as:OpolE said:I give more detail about my issue and being charged night and day rate at times that do not adhere to their rules (I'm using the smart meter. I tested a storage heater. It comes on the original times it needs to but my meter says its charging the day rate) Completely out of the blue.Edit: OP had another thread about smart meter timings last year:

Based on the 2020 and 2022 threads, it's not yet clear that there's anything wrong with the OP's system.OP when you say:my meter says its charging the day rate... what device are you looking at - the IHD or the smart meter - and what exactly is it telling you?N. OpolE said:dealyboy said:Forgive me OpolE what you've told is that you've experienced an extremely frustrating time with people not appreciating the issue you have with your E7 timing ... and don't I know, but for us we need to know some details.
What are or were your off-peak times? The supplier number's top middle 3 digits will give a reference which we can look up if needed.
When did you first notice that you had peak tariff rate at an off-peak time and what time of day is that?
Is the problem that peak and off-peak are transposed? or is the timing out and if so by how much?
Thanks. The original time when I took the smart meter in 2021 was:
22:40-00:40 for Night rate
When the clocks go forward it's
23:40-01:40 for the night rate
When they go back its
22:40-00:40 for Night rateNow all of a sudden 3 years into this I notice the night rate is
01:40-03:40FYI - I haven't called them names down the phone. I've just said its infuriating the they can't put a clear sentence together on a single email yet. Small emails with spelling errors and sentences like you are reading a TEXT is not acceptable.
Eco 7 night rate , if anywhere near schedule, starts at around midnight and lasts 7 hrs .
I can also add that no supplier I ve known can guarantee the exact start and stop times of any Eco 7 or Eco 10 night and day rate and only publish approximate times. Even digital clocks on meters drift out of time so no supplier can really get any Eco 7 times correct to the minute.
. Its been an industry bugbear for decades suppliers getting day and night times mixed up with the only true way for the occupier to take control and monitor and adjust their NSH s .
I thought with smart meters in control of the timings they would get it correct 100% of the time and adjust for the switch from GMT to BST .0 -
EDF also use a split night rate which is usually 22:30-00:30 then 02:30-7:30. Could be on this3

Now my IHD is basically saying night rate is:
01:40-03:40 and I what I believe is 05:40-08:40 (I get up at 07:40 and watch it for an hour on night rate)1
