They're trying to scare me I guess
I'm presuming that the advice above stands.
Can I just ask.... When I do not pay this what are the options that remain on the table for them?
Thanks

Have you actually read an digested the advice in the Newbies/FAQ forum? You have been advised to ignore all debt collector letters.
Pay them and you become a part of the scam and are marked as a "mug" for future fleecing by them.
The useless debt collector has no skin in the game. They are simply providing the PPC with a "No-win, no-fee" service that trie to intimidate the low hanging fruit on the gullible tree into capitulating and now paying the inflated fee with the illegal £70 add on. The debt collector is not a party to the contract you are alleged to have breached with the PPC. They cannot do anything except try and scare you into paying.
Eventually, if you follow all the advice on here, they will give up and tell the PPC that they had no luck as they are now dealing with someone who is not low-hanging fruit and they should figure out how they want to proceed. If/when you ever receive a real LBC/LoC, re-read the second post in the Newbies/FAQ thread for what you need to do and by when. In the meantime, just get on with your life.3 -
another scare letter received
I'm following the same advice 'to get on with my life'
Just bringing it to the attention of the board to see if this is common practice that these so called debt enforcers send?
Out of interest, if for any reason it did get to court, what are the likely maximum costs should the judge side with them?0 -
Search the forum for Abigale debt recoveryPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Coupon-mad said:Search the forum for Abigale debt recovery
That other thread was new though with this mentioned so I guess the only concern is that this is a new method of attack from them prior to handing it back to the cowboys0 -
You only found one other thread? This isn't new. There are loads of threads about it. Your search doesn't have to merely stick to the 3 words I suggested to start you off. I was trying to encourage you to search and find more cases so you can see this has been laughed at umpteen times. Clearly the words 'debt recovery' may not appear in full in other threads about this laughable letter, so you just tweak the search words a bit.
Abigale debt, Abigale DR Plus, you get the picture.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Why are you posting up letters you know to ignore0
-
Morning guys
I've had the letter of claim from moorside legal like so many others on here. I've read the other posts and the newbies thread and know to email the various address with the template etc and focus on the facts.
The PCN wasn't £170. It was £100.They've added a fake fee of £70.
I've no intention to pay, as you state but just a couple of questions if I may.
After this email and the case hopefully on a 30 day hold what are the next steps they'll likely take?
Will this actually get to a proceeding and is the case dependant on what the criteria is- ie if a defendant is actually deemed as being liable for the charge because they've violated their supposed ts&cs can it be enforced or can a judge rule that some sort of payment is due from defendant to company?0 -
They'll send a court claim form.
You'll defend using the Template defence.
The next steps are explained in the Template Defence thread and in the NEWBIES thread.
They'll likely discontinue before the hearing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Many thanks @Coupon-mad
That's great news
Have there been any examples where they haven't discontinued before the hearing and pursued the claim? Especially ukcps0
