Do I Ignore Or Act On This Letter?

Having ignored all previous letters this one arrived last week. Is it a genuine County Court letter or just one made up to pressure me into paying? Do I need to act on this one?
Sorry if a similar question has been posted, recently.
Thanks In Advance

That's a real claim form, and the advice to ignore a parking charge from an unregulated parking company has not been given on this forum since the law changed in 2012. You need to immediately complete the AoS then produce your defence based on the template defence in the sticky Announcement of the same name.

You only need to and paragraphs 2 and 3 of the template, and post them here before you submit it, but you should also enact Plan A, a complaint to the landowner and the registered keeper's MP.

To obtain more help, you need to tell us more about the alleged event. Why was the charge issued, when did the alleged event occur, and whether the NTK was or wasn't PoFA compliant (but that's only relevant if the keeper was not the driver).

You need to dig deep in the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES, especially the fifth post that contains acronyms and abbreviations common to this forum, and the second post that contains a guide to court written by bargepole.

The good news is that as long as you follow the advice on this forum UKPC will discontinue before it gets to court, but you need to play the game and complete every step.

You do not fill in any of the financial forms, and when you submit your defence to the CCBC, you do so by email.

  • Thanks for the reply. Obviously if I decide to just pay it rather than go through appeals, then I can?
I will look at your advice first though. Thanks again.

Why pay .... you are being scammed..... DCBL HAS ADDED A FAKE £70 and then, and this is even worse, signed as a Statement of Truth by YASMIN MIA. ???

The courts do not like fakers and especially those who sign a statement of truth claiming DAMAGES .... THERE ARE NO DAMAGES.

As this is yet another UKPC rubbish claim, as said above you now play the famous DCBL game.  Just follow what this forum says and read this thread, you will see it is mostly dodgy claims by UKPC

Play the game and UKPC/DCB Legal will discontinue. But you can't ignore this any longer, you have to do something!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You aren't going to need to go through any 'appeals'.  We have a Template Defence (takes maybe 20 minutes of your time to add your facts, claim number, name, date and signature) and they will discontinue by the Spring.  No hearing. No cost to you.

This is the stage where they'll now give up.

Why would anyone pay £262 instead of £0?

That’s great, could you be so kind as to post a link to the template? Many thanks.

You don't need that, we never provide a link to an Announcement thread because they are pinned at the top of the forum.

Please see my signature for where one of the 2 hyperlinks to page one already are, on this page.

With a Claim Issue Date of 4th August, you have until Wednesday 23rd August to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 6th September 2023 to file your Defence.
That's almost four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.
Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

@donkeydave get onto it, it's easy and they're idiots. You can do it.

Think of them more as a phishing email where a king of sultan wants to give you 1,000,000,000 rupees but you need to give him £10,000 up front. They're on a similar level to this scam.
