I can't remember if company contributions to both your personal pensions has been mentioned, I'm sure it has but better to mention it again than it getting missed.

Fortune, I just got my copy of Good Food magazine through the post (Clubcard subscription) and it has a lot of recipes that are vegetarian or could easily be made vegetarian, as well as an article on the "30 plant food a week" thing you tried last year.
I was looking through it thinking "there's a lot of recipes here Fortune would like" (and quite a few other posters on here). It's the May issue, with a big photo of a chicken salad on the front and "Salad Days" towards the bottom of the front cover.

Thanks guys. I'll post a picture when the opportunity to take one arises.badmemory said:I can't remember if company contributions to both your personal pensions has been mentioned, I'm sure it has but better to mention it again than it getting missed.
That's in the plan BM - we'll get to the end of our tax year before deciding what to do with any remaining cash... if there is any 😆VintageHistorian said:Fortune, I just got my copy of Good Food magazine through the post (Clubcard subscription) and it has a lot of recipes that are vegetarian or could easily be made vegetarian, as well as an article on the "30 plant food a week" thing you tried last year.

That's sounds fab VH. I'm a big fan of the website (not sure if the magazine recipes are included there) but will see if I can get hold of a copy of the May issue.

The sun has got his hat on - hip, hip, hip hooray! 🌞
What a glorious day we had in the Shire yesterday. We made a beeline for the garden as soon as we could. Mr F managed to get all the mowing and strimming done ✂ (although a part broke in the grass collector so he couldn't remove the cut grass as he'd intended). I pruned the soft fruit trees, top dressed my herb pots and planted some bean and courgette seeds in pots for the cold frame. It feels good to have put seeds into soil at last. I think Mr F is intending to prepare some seed beds in the veg patch today so I might be able to plant more later 😊 We also planted out yellow rattle plants in the meadow.
We had granola, greek yoghurt and pears for breakfast. The granola was a WI recipe recommended by a friend and I think it's a keeper. Lunch was a fish finger panini with lettuce and home-made tartar sauce (made with greek yoghurt instead of mayonnaise). Supper was Asparagus, Chilli & Feta Farfalle (made with fusilli as I didn't have farfalle). My only snack was a handful of almonds 😇
I completed a few chores in the house including making a couple of clothing repairs so it's been a very productive day. What a difference a little sunshine makes 😁
Some spending occurred. I've been holding off ordering my usual toiletries, waiting for an offer to come up. We're running out of a lot of things now so I was pleased when a free gift offer came up on Friday. I split my order into two to quality for two free products. One of the fabrics I'd ordered has been refunded as they can't provide a continuous piece so the search for the perfect tunic fabric continues 😉
I finished the day with a hot, bubble bath and an episode of S3wing B33. I hope the new series comes out soon as I've rewatched all the previous series bar one and I'm going to need a new fix soon 😂
No sign of the fabled, yellow orb returning today but at least it's dry 🥳 FDawg has been able to wander the homestead to his heart's content and not face a shower on his return - he enjoyed the sunshine as much as we did yesterday 🐶
Have a great Sunday all

The sunshine makes a huge difference, doesn't it? We are basking in it today 😍 I'm currently sat on my greenhouse seat just appreciating being WARM 😂5

🎵 Where does the time go, does anyone know? 🎵
There's a blast from the 80's. Remember that one?
I can't remember what I was doing this morning, let alone what's happened since I last posted. Best start from scratch I think.
I got an hour or so in the garden this morning so prepared a seed bed and planted perpetual spinach, chard and bunching onions. The onions are from seed I saved last year so I'm not sure if they'll come up. There's plenty more to do out there but I'm planning to get out for an hour every dry day - little and often 🙂
To and fro'd with the accountant this morning. We are being paid tomorrow 🥳 so I had to confirm salary amounts and tax rates, etc. This is, hopefully, the start of a regular income from the business 😁
Meal planned and grocery shopped. We're a little over budget this week... not sure why, I haven't bought anything out of the ordinary.
Bottled two fruit gins - a Limequat and a Clementine, Bay & Black Pepper.
Lunch was Cardoon Gratin with salad courtesy of this week's veg box. Supper was Sausage & Mushroom Cassoulet with mashed potatoes. Mr F has had a nasty cough all week so I thought he'd appreciate some comfort food.
We've eaten early this evening as I'm out at a WI Show meeting later. One of my contributions is a fruit gin so I'll be taking along the two I bottled earlier plus one of last year's rhubarb. Everyone can taste them and decide which we should include in our entry. Someone else is contributing Bara Brith and I'm hoping there'll be a tasting of that too 🍰😋
Happy Monday folks!

You’re brave with the cardoons Fortune! I’ve always managed to avoid them, given other customers’ opinions! 😂
I hope you get to try some barabrith 😋 And thanks for the reminder, I must bottle my rhubarb vodka.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
