Morning @Fortune_Smiles I hope that you do not mind me dropping by. Whilst I have read all your diaries for many years, I only recently joined the forum. I can now comment and pass on my heartfelt thanks for your uplifting and informative posts.
The other reason I am here is to highlight The British He@rt Foundation and HE@RT UK (the cholesterol charity) websites (forgive me if you are already aware). Not only do they provide a wealth of medical information, but include inspirational personal stories, useful dietary facts, and some delicious recipes. You can also sign up for the free HE@RT UK monthly e-news letter and the online He@rt Matters quarterly magazine, both of which I have found to be interesting and motivating. Wishing you well.

SandyShores said:Well done on the steady weight loss Fortune, I seem to start off okay and then get distracted. The health benefit is key for me too (but its also nice to fit into those summer clothes - when it arrives) so I need to get more focussed.
Thank you @SandyShores. I'm the same - start off really well and then let life take over. Not this time though 😇. It's lovely to feel my current clothes loosening and fitting better. I may even make myself some shorts to wear in the summer if when I make my target weight.

Hello @Humboldt 👋 How lovely to 'see' you. Thank you for your kind comments and for the information about the heart organisations. I was aware of them but hadn't looked at the websites which I will now do.
I've returned the compliment and visited your diary. Do pop back again soon.

Social Butterfly 🦋
It's been a busy but fun week.
Health 🧘♀️
My healthy eating goals are going well. I've been within my calorie and saturated fat targets every day. Meals have been:
Carrot, Turmeric & Ginger Soup (not a favourite but healthy) with buttered sourdough bread
Indian Masala Carrots with Coconut Lentils & Flatbreads
Roast Cauliflower, Chickpea & Houmous Wraps with Coriander Salsa
Sweet Potato & Peanut Stew with Mushrooms, Spinach and wholewheat couscous
small cheese and onion/tomato pizzas from the bakery man in the town market.
Wealth 💰
The engineer came on Tuesday to connect broadband to the Annexe Office after which we moved the study furniture in. Mr F is now properly set up to work in there. It's a lovely quiet, calm area for him and I find that I also now have periods of quiet, calm whilst he and FDawg are out of the house 😆
We sorted through lots of drawers and cupboards in the process of moving stuff and I now have to find homes for some things elsewhere in the house. I'm gradually working through it.
FDawg needed a water bowl and placemat for his desk in the office so I ordered those from the big river company. I did try to get them in our local pet shop but they didn't have the right sizes.
I had a quick chat with the accountant and am now waiting on an email from her to approve my salary payment this month 🥳
We're still waiting for the Boiler Man to send a revised quote so I'll chase him again if I haven't heard anything by Monday. I've not heard back from Window Man on a final query so will chase him today and also pay the deposit. I'd been holding back until I had all the answers but I don't want our installation date to slip.
I picked up three more trees whilst I was in town this week so we've now planted a total of 68 🌳 Also posted the rag rabbits, dropped off a bag of things at the charity shop and two bags of books to our little local castle book shop.
Happiness 😊
I've been out almost every day this week 🦋 Monday evening I went to a WI Show Team meeting. As well as getting some chores done in town on Wednesday, I attended a publishing group meeting and then chaired the WI Writing Group at our local pub in the evening. On Thursday, Mr F and I had lunch at our local pub whilst waiting for FDawg to have his bath and pamper session and in the evening we went to a Quiz Night at our local brewery. Tonight I am out with a friend at the cinema and tomorrow the same friend has invited us to a dinner party at her house. So we are having a lovely time. Most of which is very low cost or can be met from this month's fun money.
I'm very proud of myself for making healthy choices whilst out and about because I find that the hardest. That and avoiding popping into M&$ for treats whilst in town 😊🤭 But I did it and, if I can do it once, I can do it again.
Happy Friday peeps.

Happy New Quarter 🥳
Can you believe we're through the first quarter of the year already 😲 My the weeks have flown. Time to revisit my 2024 goals:
Health 🧘♀️- get new glasses ✅
- control my blood pressure 🔄 In progress and seems to be going in the right direction
- improve my fitness 🔄 Ongoing. I'm certainly feeling more motivated and energetic. More work needs to be done here though.
Wealth 💰- establish the business ✅ I think we're there already 😲 We have a number of clients, work booked until about September and cash flow is starting to ease. We've paid out a small dividend and can start paying ourselves a modest salary now 🥳
- instal a new boiler 🔄 We're waiting for an installation date from Boiler Man
- put in a boot room 🔄 The deposit is paid and we're waiting on an installation date (should be end of June-ish). The balance has been ring-fenced in the savings account.
Happiness 👶- make good use of the time we have now we're working part-time 🔄 We're doing well on social events. Not so much on gardening, walks and days out but that's largely due to the weather (has anyone noticed it's been raining 😂)
- carry on with my painting, sewing, writing and (reduced) WI activities 🔄 I've finished a painting and made two rag rabbits and an evening dress. I've dropped two WI responsibilities and am continuing with the rest for the time being.
- oh... and prepare to be a grandmother 🔄
It felt as though we got off to a slow start this year but I feel like we're motoring now 🚗 Our goals are largely around making life style changes and they'll take a while to bed in. We're already feeling some benefit though - certainly in the health and wellbeing categories.
Hope everyone had a great Easter and got to eat some chocolate 🍫
