It does make things tastier doesn't it @Greying_Pilgrim. Glad yours survived the upheaval 😊savingholmes said:Great that one is on the way to be paid. It's all a learning game at the moment isn't it... A lot of organisations are slow payers though.
Hope you enjoy your event.teapot2 said:This waiting to be paid lark drives me round the bend. I have a couple of organisations that I have to bill regularly for work, one of them has 'mislaid' my November invoice, I know they received it as I got an automatic reply after it was emailed. They told me it was processed for payment before Christmas but it turns out this just means its been sent to finance who then have a further 30 days to pay out and I've noticed the remittance advice from both parties tends to land on a Thursday/Friday with a further 3 -5 working days to wait so well into the following week. Grrrr
I think the payment process wlll go a lot more smoothly now we're set up properly on their systems @savingholmes. Fingers crossed 🤞
I hadn't realised about the 3-5 working days from remittance advice either @teapot2 but that's just happened to us too 😠 Talk about pulling teeth 🦷

Pay Day! 🥳
Well part pay day 😁 Our 3rd invoice has been paid - yay! I've used it to refund all the expenses we've incurred plus two thirds of our start up costs. That's restored the float I like to keep in our household account, funded some trees for our new hedge project, added a little to savings and given Mr F and I some personal spends. The books balance again at last 😁
Mr F has had a meeting with the client about the two outstanding invoices and the system issues holding back our first have been resolved and those affecting the second will be sorted out on Monday. We might have a second pay day soon. Fingers crossed 🤞 In the meantime, I've issued Invoice No 4 😁
We had a crisp, brisk walk around the field this morning as a little snow had fallen overnight. Mr F made his speciality breakfast - boiled eggs with marmite soldiers 😆 and we had Spiced Lentil & Butternut Squash Soup with buttered wholemeal, breadmaker bread for lunch. The soup was tasty and warming - the Dukkah really made it. Mr F made a freezer fish and chip supper for us as I've had a splitting headache all day and gave in this afternoon and took to my bed. I'm feeling a little better now after sleeping for three hours 😪
Happy Friday all.

Merry Christmas! 🤭
I still have a headache today so not much has been accomplished. Mr F made porridge with raisins, chopped nuts, mixed seeds and a little raw honey for breakfast. We had the rest of yesterday's soup for lunch with buttered, wholemeal, breadmaker bread. Supper was Pork Sausages Braised in Cider with Apples & Juniper from the freezer with wholegrain mustard mash and green beans and peas.
I did some tax research this morning and made a list of questions for the accountant. There aren't as many perks to running your own company as many of my friends seem to think 🙄 They seem to think that you can put anything and everything through the books to lower your tax bill and that's just not the case (if you follow the rules). You can, however, make small, tax-free gifts to employees and directors from time to time. So, the company has bought Mr F and I a voucher each for Christmas 🥳 I've used them to buy myself some perfume (as mine is running out) and Mr F some toiletries he'd asked for. It might be tax efficient to do this but it's still money being spent of course. However, I like the idea of receiving a little luxury something from time to time as a morale booster or gesture of appreciation from our employer 😉
That's the last of the corporate spending for now though as I've also had to start ring-fencing money to pay corporation tax on our profits 😲 When the next invoices are paid we can look at reclaiming the remaining start up costs we paid out and paying ourselves a dividend (very excited about that as I've never received a dividend before 😁).
I've also stocked up on bird food today. Our little feathered friends seem to be very hungry at the moment. Particularly the Long-tailed Tits who are visiting the fat balls every day.
I'm off up for a bath shortly - hoping that a good, long soak will help to shift this head 🤕
Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend. A big storm is due tomorrrow though so brace yourselves.

Don't forget the contributions to pensions also. You won't get the extra from tax in the pension but it will save paying tax on that money.
