Has to be leek and potato soup to start the early Autumn forecast heatwave 🤦♀️Leeks and bits always work well in a risotto
I got asparagus from Olio today. Mr BC asked if asparagus makes you w*e smell and I assured him not if if it's in a risotto! Guess what we are having for dinner?1 -
Ha thanks @foxgloves I do not enjoy exercise but do try to vaguely regularly attempt some situps as when my joints are particularly bad I can really feel how much the rest of my body is working to try to support me in minimal use of the most ouchy bits. Of course, situps and other exercise involve movement of joints and connective tissue so that's also a strain, you just can't win with this exercise lark!3

Ooh ta for the suggestions @Blackcats and of course once we start getting autumnal it'll be the hottest it's been all year 😁
I do like a leek, though maybe not this many at once! My Mum has suggested her lovely cheesy leek and potato bake for a dinner next week so I'll see what's left after that. Think I'll do a pasta, leek, drizzled olive oil and loadsa cheese bake for dinner tonight. Enjoy your risotto, do report back on Mr BC's wee 😂2 -
How about a lasagne using opened out leeks instead of pasta in the layers a la Hairy Bikers?

Goodness @joedenise I would not have thought of that, I am MOST intrigued! I shall certainly bear that in mind, thank you0

I didn't think of it either @PennyIntoPounds I saw it on one of the many Hairy Bikers TV programmes! Think it was when they were doing the dieting series as it meant getting more vegetables (low calorie) rather than carbs (high calorie), but I think it's a brilliant idea too although never done it as the eating plan I follow allows carbs thankfully! Think I'd always be hungry without them!

The hair has been washed! 😂
Went for a good walk again to get that pile of Olio books, very pleased with the (not actually that heavy but good by my standards) carrying exercise too.
Two I won't realistically read accepted by Z!ffit, hooray.
And it turned out to be good I had to go back as he also gave me three packs of seeded Waitrose rolls- I was obviously manifesting with my admiration of @Blackcats getting Waitrose items from Olio and @foxgloves getting seeds! In that spirit, I'd really enjoy winning a million pounds on the premium bonds in the next few months...
Did a Y*ugov survey
And lots of bits and bobs on the daily to-do list
Including another annoying attempt to sign up to the NHS app to be able to order prescriptions as local pharmacies now won't do it, fingers crossed it'll work this time
Did the swabs for that antibiotic resistance study, think I did more exercise than any walking or situps, poised in a peculiar crouch with my arms at unnatural angles waiting for the exact right moment to catch a poo in a margarine tub, like a postmodern interpretation of the ancient Greek heroic statues
Popped those in the post box (I was meant to, I'm not a wrong 'un) and incorporated a small walk round the block
Entered some competitions, today I'm particularly looking forward to winning a case of ales and some Liberty towels
As Blackcats said, now it's autumn all the summer weather has finally shown up late to the party. Found a very summery conker on my walk 🙄😁 I do love finding a conker though, a good reminder that there are lots of free things that bring joy and a feeling of being part of life

Hello from a sweltering mse-er!
Finally got word months later from T*pcashback that a payment will be available- in another two months! Seems a lot of uncertainty and waiting for £3 but that's £3 that wouldn't otherwise be in the pot in future
Good old Trolley website informed me my moisturiser was cheapest at B*ots so off I trundled for my walk. Got a couple of those, glad that I'm running out of toiletries at the start of the month so I don't feel too stretched stocking up on a good deal
Was rewarded for my walk by finding both £1 and 5p on the street
Became aware that Olio has a competition where if you list five items you'll be entered into a draw to win a £100 T*sco voucher so I'll try to do that this weekend
And I've been enjoying the Sp*r/Post Office competition to win a voucher in their prize draw, the game is matching images in a limited time. Link below if anyone fancies having a go

Started reading one of my free Olio books, the diaries of the former editor of the Financial Times. I'm not very well informed about the business world but I do like a bit of scurrilous gossip about the rich and powerful 😁

Thinking about the extremely likely occurrence of me winning a million pounds on the premium bonds, I vaguely recalled I think @WinterWarrior saying the premium bonds people release notifications of wins in the amount order. I couldn't find any info on that though I trust my source 😁 But I did find out that they personally visit you if you've won. They say if you're not in they'll contact you in another way but I was really surprised they use this method initially. Maybe I'm an outlier but I hate answering the door even if I *am* expecting something! And in this day and age I'd be surprised if the majority of people with premium bonds were still at the same address they registered with. A fascinating brief internet read1
