Cheers @EssexHebridean, aren't you already mortgage free though?! You'll have to get another one so you feel at home if you go over to them there boards 😂
Entirely here for everyone's rambles 😊
I'm now nearly finished reading a novel by that nice Michael Palin so literary calm has been restored. Think I'm going to attempt a Kazuo Ishiguro next, though like you when someone's a 'must read' I find it off-putting. I've only read his recent one 'Klara and the Sun' but enjoyed that a lot so should stop feeling apprehensive and get on with it.
Thanks for the cab support, I'm so used to feeling either rubbish or poor that I'm bad at even getting buses and just put things off if I can't walk which is ridiculous and I have to change my mindset. Spending a month with a vague sense of dread because I haven't done some basic tasks for want of spending three quid on bus fares because I'm waiting to feel 'up to' walking is just daft1 -
Not feeling very productive today as was woken up again by period pains at 530am and couldn't get back to sleep.
Did some small domestic chores, usual admin and bits of work.
Contacted an auctioneers about a couple of small bits that from online research could be worth a couple of hundred quid. Got an immediate reply about one saying there's no market for it at the moment so a bit disappointing but I appreciated them letting me know.
Still annoyed with eBay's nonsense, irretrievably closing my account when I'd not even had a chance to list anything.
Attempted to put something on V*nted but the site wasn't working.
And went to send my friend her street fair stall money and fortunately saw before I sent it that it *had* gone out yesterday, no idea what N*tionwide was playing at. Isn't it infuriating when you make the effort to do something useful and are thwarted by modern life and all its 'helpful' technology?!
Managed a small walk round the block which I was pleased with as I was not feeling terribly capable.
Did a c*-op receipt survey, I always try to make the effort despite it never coming to anything but I have a vague memory of reading that @foxgloves won some vouchers once so it might be worth it one day!
Spent a fair bit of time laying down and reading but when I have physically rubbish days, I can at least cling to the justification that by reading I'm actually potentially building my z*ffit pile. I'm basically the city trader version of having a lie-down and a read 😁
Leftover pasta for dinner and will add some extra veg in to feel extra healthy. Inevitably with lots of cheese and wine.
Have a good mid-week evening all x

Yes, you remembered correctly. I did win a voucher (£50) from filling in a supermarket till receipt survey..

Goodness @foxgloves why do I struggle to remember what day it is but I can remember reading that passing comment quite some time ago.. Belated congratulations on your win, and as you can see it was truly inspirational!2

The cheese slice and square of sponge comment made me giggle too!
Ahh - and we ARE shortly to be taking on a new mortgage, hence me thinking about the move to MFW as a possibility. We've needed a top up of funds to buy the proposed new house (I'm hoping that it IS really more than "proposed" now in honesty, but reluctant to commit still!) and so have taken on borrowing over a 16 year term (random, I know, but that was where the figures worked!) so will once again be throwing ourselves into the breach of overpayments and spreadsheets! It's probably quite sad that I am actually almost looking forward to it!
As for the "waiting to feel up to walking" that is surely worth a reframe on the basis of taking each day as it comes. So if you want to do something, would like to walk, but can't, but CAN achieve the thing by getting a bus - or indeed now a cab - then go, get the bus, do the thing,. If you walk up tomorrow feeling "up to walking" then go for a walk - that is then a double-win!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Today's things:
Entered some competitions
Had a shower and washed my hair (this counts as an achievement in my world)
Renewed some ads on G*mtree
Started the Kazuo Ishiguro book, enjoying it so far
Did the half hour walk I'd been putting off
Recycled plastic packaging bags
Got very money saving toiletries from S*vers
A man deliberately slammed into me walking in the street for absolutely no reason and was really pleased with himself
I am now having a couple of beers in a pub garden and seeing if my shoulder, neck and arm ease enough to be able to walk back with my bag or if I'll need to get the bus

It's a funny world isn't it. You get the ones who deliberately barge into you & then the ones that put out an arm to steady you when you are looking unstable & restore your faith in human nature.

Isn't it just @badmemory
What a shame some men ruin the trust women (and men) should have in all men when just going about one's day. I have no idea what could have motivated him to purposefully assault a woman on the street, and the worst bit apart from the pain (still ongoing) is he looked so delighted about it. I'm quite shaken to tell the truth, and this is from a born and bred rude Londoner!0
