So did you get to the bottom of why the building control person is not being replaced ? Are the tile people going to cover the cost of the tiles being taken off & being replaced?
Is there still a lot to be done?

We discussed and we're not pursuing them for compo @beanielou as we were expecting a fight to get refund and it's not really their fault that the tiles were installed. As I said in a previous post, we can't be everywhere at once and while it would have been ideal for them to send the effing thing that was ordered, and for our builders to have checked what was sent, you gotta choose yer battles. It's our choice to replace them and we are okay with that as it will bring us pleasure rather than despondency.

Building Controller has replied and said he'll be around for a few months, so either mixed messages or our builder heard what he wanted to hear to nag us. Either way, no current problem.

There is an absolute sh*te-ton still to be done 😂

Thames alone can take up to four months and who knows what the frik is going on with the council's insistence that we reinstate the kerb, that paperwork can take up to a year but we'll just have to illegally squat in our own house on our own land 🙄

  • Could you not paint the tiles?

We considered that @WelshmansDaughter but simply did not have the energy to research yet another thing.

Paint replacement order cancelled by stockist as they don't have enough. Replacement replacement paint ordered. Who knows what colour it will end up being

Oh good grief what a palaver with the tiles and paint 😞Why is nothing ever simple!

Eek to your knee! Mr SA's shoulder used to keep dislocating when he was a roofer, it used to set my teeth on edge when he popped it back. He reckoned it was caused by carrying heavy tiles on his shoulder. He still has trouble with it now and his 'roofer's knee'.

    Why indeed @Sun_Addict 🙄

Sympathies to Mr SA, it ain't nice. Though sympathies to you too, Mr PIP also visibly cringes when I'm trying to get my joints back in place!

Thank you for the zen and positive thinking @WelshmansDaughter
