In the meanmeanmeanmeantime we regularly chase the council to look at and sign off on the consents that have been submitted, and are largely ignored
We also have to pay for Building Controller as well as Warranty Inspector and make sure that they both attend at the correct times throughout the build as work will be defunct if they haven't signed off on it. Obviously they do not have matching stages at which they need to be in attendance
And I'm sure I've overlooked several other things in this most tedious of tellings!

We are doing all this on a necessarily constant basis all day every day along with our actual jobs and responsibilities.
And I have a chronic pain condition and adenomyosis and am starting a job I have zero experience in next week because I'm running out of daily living money as the brave new future of AI has left the likes of me behind. And I'm still freaking out about Octopus and debt recovery agency. And interest rates have gone down yet again so savings are worth less but cost of living keeps going up.

Grateful for the overall good health and happy relationships of me and mine, and that it's not cold, and for my lovely mse pals 🥂4 -
Am I allowed to ‘take out’ your surveyor ….?! 🙄
Seriously though, well done for persisting with this. Please do keep going … I would love to think of you safely settled in a cosy home that is YOURS! A goal worth persisting for … 😊❤️

Thanks @doingitanyway, you of all people know the weary teary feeling of living for years with that constant anxiety that there's no place that you can truly say is your home, with rights and everyfink.
So very happy for you that you have your place by the sea now 🩷3 -
Absolutely @KajiKita, I'm sure you were meaning a special date on which you convinced him to be a better man/surveyor 😂
I don't know anything about his personal leanings though so if Mr KK could do the same just to cover all bases 😁
We have to keep going, our savings and the land wouldn't buy us a liveable gaff in London so it's either this comes good or we're completely destitute!1 -

Thanks @PennysIntoPounds I do know how you feel. But you get to the stage, as you know, where you just have to keep on pressing on, as the only way out is through. It will be worth itIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

jeepers creepers what a palaver. Mr K McCloud glosses over a lot in his 1 hour programme!
keep going - we are all with you even though we don't have any idea about what is required to build a home on your own land.2
