just catching up.  On the house being "too low"  that is a problem my potential barn conversion has that I was going to get around my some kind of septic tank or whatever the modern version is.  I spent a few hours watching septic tank TV to learn all about them (yes there really is such a thing and very informative it is too LOL)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Thank you for watching so others don't have to @Watty1 😂
Either it can be sorted or it can't, I'm tired of us being presented with problems like we have an engineering degree, an architectural degree, and a full time profession of knowing the intricate details of all the latest planning development nuances. Why we keep giving people money to have to solve their problems is beyond me but that's building apparently!

I can certainly empathise with this. I have learned quite a lot about rising drains in the last few months. I never even knew there was such a thing so thank goodness for the internet.

I saw a news report on potential reform to planning.  Apparently some sort of proposed transport tunnel thingymabob has generated planning paperwork which is already at 396,000 pages.  Can't even begin to imagine how much money has been spent (wasted) on "professional" fees producing that lot.   Let's hope it's not your local planning department wading through that lot.
  • They wouldn't bother reading it so not too worried on that count @Blackcats

Although I bet it turns out to be going through our back garden

No hairspray advice from me as I rarely style my hair it’s allowed to be free range. I usually drag an Afro comb through it and hope for the best 😆 I do use it on office days when I quickly dry it then spray a bit on in the vague hope of it looking remotely tidy when I arrive (it never does).
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪

I don't do styles either, so am not of much help. Mine's shoulder length & layered, so I have 3 options : Straighten it & look decent, bouffe it up (which is basically the 'do nothing' choice) & tie it up in a ponytail or a sort of splat x
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!
