Possibly, but I'm willing to gamble that for the chance of seeing what HM Courts & Tribunals Service have to say about them.

Now I really don't understand. Why would paying the scammer £60 give you odds that HMCTS may have something to say about "them"?

You pay £35 to make a claim against them which goes to the court. Where is this £60 payable to the scammers?

I really wouldn't pay Group Nexus.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry if I'm being confusing, but by turning this into a small claims case, I'm bringing in a proper third party. Right now it's just me, them and their POPLA chocolate teapot. If I win, they pay the fee, and if I lose, I'm still up as I've explained.

I understand the whole culture of this board is "Do Not Pay". But I'm not going to let that prevent me observing my principle of "Make Money". And I also understand you think that if people don't pay then these companies won't survive. But hoping for some kind of nationwide fine strike is I think is a bit wishful. If we want these companies to disappear, we need to vote for politicians who will bring that about.

But why don't you just let them take you to court? If they do, then you can put all your arguments forward.

On what basis would you make a claim against them?

Yes. They will pay for a court claim anyway.

Why would you pay £60 plus court fees, let them do that as they normally do.

If they make a court claim against me (as you say "they normally do") then it will be for more than £60 (in fact they say this is their letter - so maybe £170+). So in paying the £60, I have fixed the amount in contention and I am now in control.

@B789 Not sure I follow what you mean. If you don't think I have a claim against them (principally by not making it clear I was parking wrongly), that implies I should pay the fine.  No, my arguments against them are sound (and in accordance with the guidance on MSE) and they would be the basis of my claim. And this time, it's the court, not POPLA, who will be considering them.

Think of it this way: in allowing me to pay them their £60 they have "stuck" at that while I am now able to "twist" for even more than I've got already. Don't forget I am playing the Royal Mail off against them - that's part of this whole adventure too.

I admit it's all very complicated for the amounts involved, so I don't blame you for being a bit baffled by it all.

    But we don't lose.

Group Nexus single PCN claims are all discontinued. No-one here pays a penny.
