  • oops then .. I did submit that.. don't see anything incorrect with it but may be more detailed than the other template link.. btw this template is linked in the current newbies thread unfortunately

in the newbies thread there is a heading for "COMPANY, LEASE OR HIRE CARS ANYWHERE IN THE UK" and in that the third link template posted is what I used so maybe that NEWBIES thread needs a refresh and clean up of old templates is needed

Pic below - this is the third link

yes exactly - this link is in the NEWBIES thread and fit my circumstances with the tweaks I did

anyways will report back when i hear

its interesting that they have now sent a reminder which says they issued a windscreen ticket as then even their first notice to keeper is invalid given they sent it without waiting as required by POFA and sent within 14 days of "alleged" breach of contract

So they issued a windscreen PCN then got DVLA data too soon?  That's a major breach.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • no they did not issue a windscreen ticket but in a reminder letter they said that they did

    hopefully that's still helpful

Well you will win at POPLA anyway by searching the forum for a good thread using the keywords:

     Notice to Hirer POPLA appeal

  • Thanks

so I haven't received anything from UKPC yet.. but on the appeals website the pcn seems to be not on hold anymore.. whenever I tried to login before it would say on hold whilst appeal is being considered but not it has the full amount and apparently allows me to submit an appeal again and shows the full £100 amount

Is anyone familiar with this? Have they basically rejected the appeal - I haven't received anything via email (checked Junk too) and nothing in the post yet either.. had chosen email as method in the online appeal

Send a complaint to their Complaints email saying you don't know what on earth is going on and all you want to do is appeal now that they know you were the Hirer.

  • sorry let me rephrase.. i appealed online as the hirer on 14 August 2023 but haven't heard back and online the PCN was showing as on hold pending the appeal.. but since yesterday online the appeal website doesn't show it as on hold anymore but allows me to either pay or make an online appeal (again bizarrely)  - might wait to see if a letter pops up .. tried to call their number but when you select appeal it just says appeal online and doesn't let you speak to a human
  • Okay so I have now received a letter from UKPC in the post which says that "please confirm the full name and address" of the driver to their appeals department within 7 days to assist them in making a decision regarding my appeal.

What's the plan now - should I just ignore this request?

They do say in the letter a failure to provide this info will leave them with no choice but to make a final decision based on the previous information supplied and at that stage a POPLA verification code may be supplied
