Hello,
got the painting finished yesterday and DD's bed built. More of that tonight.
Just got our 0ct0pus bill for the last 31 days (actual readings), remember we were away for two weeks and had everything off and it is still £66 in summer!!! More than half of the gas bill (hot water and cooking) and half of the electricity bill was just standing charge, together about £25, nuts. Still can't shop around as everyone still charges the same up to the maximum allowed I guess.
Something mince for tea and will need to do a wee top u shop later for milk, coffee etcDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/259 -
Grateful today for getting to the gym at lunchtime and managing to do most of my workout plan (focussing on strengthening my back and arms), for selling another item on VintD, for AI helping with my writer's block at work, for nice weather allowing me to sit and relax for five in the garden, and for getting two lots of washing dried outside.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

More admin than he anticipated though!Sadly, there is a stoooopid amount of admin attached to the job. Hope he keeps on enjoying it.Today I am grateful for getting a cancellation appointment for dc with the dr and for her clear instructions and explanations to dc, forgetting mt money back on some slippers that didn't for dh, for dc having fun at pottery painting, for taking myself off for a run for about 3 miles, for finding my car key in the charity shop!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9 -
Thanks for all your good wishes. Glad your DS is enjoying his new role @beanielou.
Changed the bedding before breakfast, including turning the mattress - not easy when there's no floorspace, a shelf above the headboard, & a get trying to get where she shouldn't!!
Work had its blips today, thankfully no flying chairs hit me.
Went to pin a woman into a pinafore. We worked together @27 years ago, so had a natter afterwards. I was all set to leave, then her daughter came home from work, so was another hour before I left! Stopped to buy rolls for burgers on the way home, managed to get ys ones 😊
Washed the dishes after tea, then shortened s pairs of trousers.
Trying not to nod off in the bath, will be konked out as soon as my head touches the pillow.
Grateful for laughter when least expecting certain words 🤣, children playing nicely, small hands wanting to hold mine, clean beddingUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

My bank has decided that there is possible fraud on my account and has been refusing to pay for things (okay me buying clothes for myself is unusual activity but really - I just love how banks are so determined to keep your money safe, especially from you. I went to see if I could still get cash out of the machine - I have an optician's appointment today and new pairs of glasses will be needed and being able to get cash out (I could) was preferable to spending 3 -4 hours in a phone queue. I still have to phone them but it's less urgent so can pick my time and have food and other essentials close to hand.
Used a voucher I got for a survey and the dregs of my coin savings to buy a meal deal and some chilli and lime nuts I've bee drooling over for weeks but thought they were too expensive. Considered what else was on my want list (the bank refused to pay for my online food order last weekend and has also refused payment on just-eat which now has several convenience stores on it's list and they're cheaper and have a wider variety of foodstuffs than the ones nearest me). Little Arseda is on the list but their website is clunky and they didn't have beetroot, celery, carrots, granny smiths or anything vaguely healthy (I may have mentioned before the 20 types of condoms and 100s of alcohol/ vape/ tobacco options)
Went in HB in search of cheap secateurs (I have some which are on their last legs but I may still have a good pair somewhere so didn't want to spend a lot but I'm fed up with struggling with an old pair of scissors). Oh f0xh0les half the gardening aisle is gone and has been replaced by tinsel and ho ho hos - has anyone had an earlier sighting apart from crafting bits.
So, no secateurs but I did buy some food stuffs including some lovely small sweet strawberries grown in Herefordshire (okay they've travelled but they never got on a plane and they're not GM). Not all healthy purchases, I bought 6 strawberry and vanilla generic ice cream cones as my ice lolly supplies are severely diminished - I found a pineapple one with ice cream in the middle in a corner of the bottom freezer drawer yesterday (it helped stop me giving in to chocolate cravings). Then I sat on a nearby bench and ate one of the ice creams.
Quickest route home (least pedestrians) took me past Will Co who have now started a sale. Thought that their secateurs were expensive last week but 30% off gardening and very little choice, a pair of pruners and a pair of garden scissors with a serrated edge cost me £10.50 (The £10 pound note was from the money I took out to buy drinks at the funeral but they wouldn't let me pay, 50p from the coin jar). The poor staff have no idea what's happening or what might happen.
Happy with my purchases (there were another 2 shops I'd considered but I'd got what I needed) I came home (ankle throbbing again). Sat on the couch, ate lunch, read for a bit. One of my targets was to gather rubbish and recycling to make fast progress on tackling the 'mess'. I have a part filled bag in my room, a nearly full bag in the front room and more in the kitchen plus multiple bags of cans and bags of paper (some are the accumulation of a few days) but it began to get more difficult. I think it's the pill that I ran out of - I had terrible side effects when I first started on it and I'm having a relatively minor (I hope) rerun - I felt as though I was going to be sick but wasn't actually sick, temperature rocketed (that's an existing and an amplified symptom) and my stomach hurt. First thing I did when I got upstairs was to take off my skirt.
After a few hours I was more comfortable . I was hoping to go back and tie off a few bin bags but watched The Godfather through to the end and read some more. Laptop charges, phone charged up (another reason for delaying contacting the bank - I'd hate to move from no 92 to being near the head of the queue and have my phone conk out.
Grateful for Godfather movies (especially Al Pacino and Andy Garcia), delicious strawberries, good books, getting all I needed in 2 shops. Opticians is at 3 pm, lots to do before them (tasks dependent on how well I can walk - bringing the bins back will be my first test. I may go on the bus to cash in my remaining pennies (1p, 2p and 5p) and raid Morries salad bar. I have several shopping tasks on my list for tomorrow but will probably only be able to manage one in addition to the restaurant meal (they've picked somewhere near to where the bus stops) but 'near' is a strange concept these days.8 -
