For Christmas I treated myself to the small Tweezerman mirror to go with my essential (pink) Tweezerman tweezers. Now I save money by being able to see my own eyebrows and pluck them myself!!

    I have that!!!

I bought it with my points:D

I so want to try the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, I'm so gutted I missed the gold box gift set you could buy for £45 with purchase. I looked at it, but as I didn't use any EL products I didn't know what to buy.

Are they doing this in any other shops now?
Will they do a similar one again or was this the best ever?
  • I used to use EL double wear for years but now use Max Factor lasting performance just as good and cheaper. Thanks Floyd on the lesson on how to use YSL touch eclat.
  • Hi all, great thread!

    Few of my favourites:

Skincare - Liz Earle - beautiful products, always find myself coming back to this one after trying other things!

Concealer - Brenda Christian Redness Concealer - never thought a powder concealer would work, but it's better than any cream concealer I've ever used!

Brow Pencil - Brenda Christian Universal Brow Pencil - great colour, very soft. Adjusts to the colour of your natural brow, so anyone can use it (so I'm told!).

Eyeshadow - Mac - Jest - lovely, natural, shimmery peach. Looks beautiful when going for a minimal make-up look.

Highlighter - Brenda Christian Cipria Gleamer - gives a gorgeous, subtle shimmer to the cheekbones or just under the arch of the eyebrow.

Lipgloss - Pout Plump - Bubblegum - although I believe Pout have now discontinued their make-up line! :o

As you can see, I'm a big fan of Brenda Christian products! :p

That's all for now! I'm still yet to find my favourite mascara & blusher, so keep all your fantastic recommendations coming! :D

This is an amazing product, I still can't figure out how I (with nearly black eyebrows) and my sister who is strawberry blonde can both use the same pencil and it still looks natural

Do you buy YSL Touche Eclat from USA online or when you visit and how much do you pay?

I agree Liz Earle products is great. I use their skin repair moisturiser for £15 which is a great price. What makes it great value for me is that I have a dry skin and other brands I normally have to put on 2 layers but not with this creme which makes it last twice as long for me.

I also use Clarins Soft cream Eye colour, it costs £14 but you only use so little that the tube lasts forever. I have used mine at least 3 times per week since 2003 and half the tube is still left.

My #1 is Guerlain SOS Serum & Cream. They repair cuts, scratches & blemish spots overnight - literally. I had surgery when younger which left scars at the jaw line by each ear, I've used SOS Serum night & day for a year, they're almost gone. If you've scars (surgery/acne) which bother you the results are remarkable. I also like Clinique's Anti Blemish cleansing foam & Exfoliating Scrub. Keep pores on my sensitive skin clear.

Diorskin foundation is what I've had to swear by for the past 9 makeup-wearing years because its the only foundation light enough for my "English Rose" complexion. All Clinique foundation goes yellow on me! Diorskin 102 has just a hint of pink which takes me from corpse-bride to interestingly-pale :D

Other makeup I love is Guerlain Meteorites - the gold Christmas edition ones. They'd sold out everywhere round here so I talked my long suffering OH into buying some more in duty free when he was on a trip.

For eyeliner you can't go wrong with Clinique's Quickliner. Comes with a smudge-tip for smoky effect or you can build the line for drama, either way it stays put. All day & night.

Blusher - Clinique Blushing powder blush in Pink Love
Bronzer - Guerlain Terracotta bronze highlighter
Lip gloss - Guerlain Pucci edition 04
Eye shadow - Guerlain Shadow & Liner duo L'heure fumee 380

I seem to like Guerlain and Clinique a bit. :rotfl:
  • Favourite foundation: L'oreal Infallible in Porcelain - lasts well and blends easily - and I don't look like I've smeared butterscotch sauce all over my face (you girls know the look I mean :D)

Favourite loose powder: No7 Perfect Light in Translucent

Favourite pressed powder: No7 Perfect Light in Translucent

Favourite concealer: No7 Instant Radiance in Shade II

Favourite blusher: Bourjois in Lilas D'or

Favourite mascara: Bourjois Volume Clubbing (Black)

Favourite eyeliner (pencil): Bourjois Khol and Contour in various shades

Favourite eyeliner (liquid): I generally use pencil eyeliner but I have become a big fan of Collection 2000's Glam Crystal eyeliners, especially the electric green one for a bit of sparkle (it looks great teamed with a smokey grey/black eyeshadow from No7)

Favourite eyeshadow: Tough one...not so keen on No7's solo eyeshadows and palettes since the revamp two years ago...used to be a big fan but found that post revamp application has not been as good...HOWEVER...they do seem to hit the mark a bit better with some of their limited edition eyeshadows...Am currently experimenting with loose eyeshadows like Collection 2000's Dazzle Me range and the Bourjois equivalent the name of which escapes me right now! Big big fan of Bourjois' round eyeshadow pots :T

I'm a bit of a make up chameleon, I like experimenting with different colours and looks - I'm no shrinking violet me! The key to it all as we all know is application, and number one word for me is "BLEND" :D

And for taking it all off...

Dove moisturising bar and cold water, followed by No7 cleanser, then No7 toner, then at night No7 night cream (don't ask me which one, I'm at work right now and the pot is at home :D)
DFW no.554 - Proud to be dealing with my debts :T
