Maybelline dream matte mousse - I have awful skin, but this covers the redness without looking caked on. I'm on about my third pot.

Lips- anything in my kind of colour that's nor Rimmell- I refuse to give them money since they took Ms Moss back on their books.

    Skincare- antibacterial facewash and oxy10:p

    ps I'm nearing 38!:p

Ha ha, glad I'm not the only one - I despise the woman!!!

I don't wear alot of makeup, but my favourite nail varnish is Barry M - fabulous colours. Maybelline Define a Lash mascara with its weird rubbery brush. And Bourjouis Effet 3D lipglosses - I've got loads but at the moment I'm using Framboise Magnifique and the clear Gloss Menthol. I find they last ages on your lips.

Just to add - Superdrug sensitive wipes (blue pack) to get the mascara off. And my best discovery a while back was some nail varnish remover pads in Aldi which have a plasticky coating on one side so you don't get the remover all over your fingers when using it. And also being Aldi it was cheap, but can't remember just how cheap.

  • On the sytrngth of the reccommendations on here I had a look at the E.L.F site and ordered their therapeutic conditioning balm. I put it on my lips last thing at night and in the morning my lips are so plumped up!
They look amazing with it on! Its one of the best lip plumpers I've tried. The gloss one didnt do anything for me sadly.
I wondered if the vanilla one is clear as I got the strawberry creme and its a little sparkly for me.

I'm not the only one then, I haven't touched Rimmel since they started using Kate Moss, I don't see what the fascination is with her, she's an absolute disgrace, how anyone can look up to her or see her as a role model is beyond me.

Kate Moss always looks like she could do with a good bath to me.
Failing that a sheep dip might do the trick!

    Hello!

Great thread. I have been thinking about trying the Liz Earle cleanse and polish for a while. Ok mine:

I have used Clarins gentle foaming cleanser now for years and it really is great; I have tried many others and come back to it. I get the odd compliment and all but you don't want to miss the chance of looking nicer!

Touche Eclat- but is it just the psychological effects? Is there a cheaper but better one. Anyone use the Tesco Barbara Daly one-heard that is good?

Prescriptives foundation- good but may try cheaper one next.

Lemon aid- Benefit makes your eyes look brighter.

Clairns beauty flash balm- nothing beats it. It does make you look perkier.

Mac for lipstick- colour and staying power.

Clarins, L'oreal and Christina Dior for fake tan.

Prada face powder- flawless and has SPF. Clarins mascara.

Weleda baby cold weather balm- no parabens etc... and acts like a natural, CHEAP Elizabeth A 8 hour cream. I use it as a lip balm, cheekbone highlighter, nail bed conditioner etc... You can buy it in health food shops and Sainsburys.

Shower gel- a bit off topic but have to say I got a cheap SLES, paraben free etc... natural organic shower gel from Asda for a few pounds and it is great. Lemongrass and something else in a blue bottle in the mens section-worth looking out for!

Apparently there is a survey/ book which is unbiased that comes out once a year called the beauty bible that list the best of these type of things. Even the cheaper ones. Are we al mad and just stupidly sold to- I mean I read somewhere on here that all the clinque moisturiser is water, some nut oil and colour or something...

Bourgois and No7 for eye shadows.

Balance me rose body balm- no parabens, sles, based on aromatherapy, etc...(boots online, or their own site ) is AMAZING. Not a bad price, lasts for ages and makes your skin feel so silky and hydrated plus smells divine.

Oh lorks, am product junkie... shall we start a support group?
    xx

Can I just say, loving this thread. After some of you guys recommending Bare Escentuals, I ordered some, its fantastic, read some reviews on the net about how it would break me out in rashes etc, but its really evened out my skin tone, feels a lot better as well!!

Hi lexa :) When I was thinking of trying the Touche Eclat but dithering because of the number of pennies required to purchase this :D someone recommended the No7 Instant Radiance concealer as a cheaper alternative, so I tried that and have never looked back. It's £12 a pop, so still not the cheapest, but I always wait until No7 is on 3 for 2 or Boots are issuing £5 off No7 vouchers (have even bought it on eBay for half the price).

Haven't read everything, but my makeup of choice is Urban Decay. Yes, its expensive, and the eyeliners are hell to sharpen, but everything stays put all day.

As for makeup removal, I tend to use Johnsons baby wipes :D
