Did I read somewhere Almay was gone or going?
Probably knowing my luck, every time I find something good it gets discontinued. Estee Lauders Double Matte oil control pwder was another example, bought all the stock in my local Boots as soon as I found out it was going.
I can only get that Almay mascara in America and its the only one I have found that doesn't make my eyes itch like crazy, ah well, back to the drawing board :rolleyes:0 -
No 7 Radiant Glow foundation and Benefit Dandelion make me look alive even when I've been out later than I should the previous night.....
I love Maybelline mascaras, and think that Rimmel eyeshadow mousses have a really good colour.
I don't like lipstick, but Rose and Co lip salve gives a really pretty pinky colour and only costs a fiver from John Lewis-essential is cold weather, brr!0 -
I tend to stick to these now as I was too a make-up junkie.
Skincare - Liz Earle. Very MSE as it works.
Foundation - Estee Lauder Lucidity,It lasts ages and is good for my dryish skin
Blusher - Lily Lolo, the colours are gorgeous
Eyeshadow - Lily Lolo too!
Lip gloss - Burts Bees and M&S £2.50 ones
Mascara, Still trying to find favourite. Revlon's fabulash is good. I would love a recommendation for a softish one as I hate brittle lashes.0 -

I adore Lily Lolo, after using mac select spf for a few years i decided to try a mineral makeup range so i ordered a blusher and foundation and i'm in love with them!
I also like mac blushers, last for ages and have fab colours, i love the 17 squeezy tube blushers too!0 -
I rarely wear make up and was thinking I should really start wearing it for work. I'm going to be in London soon and thought about having a make up consultation at one of the department stores but you've all confused me now. Your favourites are from lots of different brands but I guess I could only try products from one brand at a time at the make up counters. Could anyone suggest a brand that would be good for most things or a different approach I could take? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to make up and don't know what questions to ask.
I am strong enough not to be bamboozled by a sales assistant and persuaded to buy everything offered, especially if I think I have something very similar in my random make up collection at home so any suggestions?0 -

I think different brands are good at different things e.g. l'oreal mascaras are in general very good.
Two brands I would recommend spending a bit of time with are Benefit and MAC. Benefit do a lot of 'fix-it' type products that address common beauty problems like dark eyelids, and products that are great for the natural look like cheek and lip tints, brightening powders etc. Their pressed face powder is very good btw! MAC is good for staying power and variety - their e/s and lipglosses are fantastic..
On the cheaper side, Maybelline is very good - their foundations are lovely, their mascara Great Lash is a cult product (though I don't get on with it), and their eyeliners and eyeshadows are not bad.We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

I love L'Extreme mascara by Lancome - pricey but worth it
Clinique Superwear foundation or Maybelline 3d Mousse
E.L.F - Plumping Lip Gloss - love the tingle from the mint!
Lancome Juicy Tubes
Collection 2000 Plastique lip gloss
Barry M Dazzle Dust eyeshadows for going out
Rimmel Bronzing Powder0 -
Best cleanser and moisturiser- Liz Earle
Foundation- Everyday Minerals (like Bare Essentials without the bismuth and $12 a tub)
Eye primer- Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer
Eye Liner- Mac Fluidline in Blacktrack
Eye shadow- Mac Shroom as an all over wash is an essential!
Hair straightening guff- Phyto Phytodefrisant
Can't think of more at the moment, but will do!0 -
For me I have to say all of my make-up is MAC as I suffer from extremely dry skin and it's the only make-up I have found which doesn't dry my skin out.
If anyone is looking for a good mascara also I'd recommend Too Faced Lash Injection from Boots"Not here for a long time...just here for a good time" - Kat Von D0
