I'm a recent expat from America, and I brought over some of my favourite body products over, but I'm now starting to run out, so I've been keeping an eye out for good sls and paraben-free brands over here.

I can wholeheartedly recommend anything Burts Bees, although it is very expensive here in the small online stores I've seen it in. People used to go into my room and bathroom and joke that I looked like a stockist because I had so many of their products.

I too have Lavera mascara and it works very well, I can definitely recommend it.

Where are you guys finding Dr. Bronners?!
I love the peppermint body wash, but on the move over I didn't really have enough room to bring it with me and am a little wary of having it shipped over here by a relative. I have yet to see it anywhere here and would love to have Dr. Bronners and their creepy bottle in my shower again ;)

I'm not sure if the offer is still going on, but I bought some Naked Shampoo and Conditioner at Boots because it was BOGO half price about a month ago. I am pretty impressed with them, especially the volume conditioner, though the shine shampoo smells a little too coal-y though for my taste.

I too was really disappointed to see that a lot of Lush's products contain SLS, but there are a few that don't that work very well! I ran out of my Tom's of Maine deodorant a while back and desperately needed some new natural stuff, and did a bit of research online. Lush's Coconut powder deodorant is fab -- and I have very sensitive skin too, so I was relieved that it works so well. I wanted to buy the Fuwari deodorant bar since it's less packaging, but my local store didn't have it. They give you small containers of it but a little bit goes a long way! I also bought a body butter from Lush and it too is SLS and paraben-free and works very nicely.

never done a link before so hope this is okay.

this is a small family run business and their products are all handmade and really reasonable - no SLS

  • Hi,

We use Faith In Nature Products, if you compare their shampoo against their shower gel it is the exact same ingredients in the same order (IE quantities). The shampoo is usually cheaper so you can save a bit by missing out the shower gel as it is the same product.
I don't know about this versus say handwash etc.

Heh. skelly..I use my shampoo as "body wash" all the time too. It's much the same stuff, so why not. It's easier, there are fewer bottles in the shower, and you smell the same all over. :p

have just bought a couple of the Neals Yard products, seem pretty good but can anyone tell me how these compare in the "natural" scheme of things in relation to other brands
    thanks

    hi

if you take a look at their website they are pretty transparent about their ingredients (and there is an a-z explaining what things actually are).

Ive been looking for SLS free toothpaste and have just used Green People. When I was trying to find an alternative for a change I came up with a big fat zero  Toms and Kingfisher both have SLS in! I was disappointed to say the least..so back to Green People for me

In case anyone needs to buy Green People this month - they have free delivery throughout March (perfect timing for me as the bathroom cabinet was almost empty).

    And don't forget Quidco

I was in a rush last week and bought Kingfisher from my local organic shop, didn't realise in had SLS in it! (They dont normally sell anything containing SLS).

I normally use Jason toothpaste and mouthwash. The toothpaste is about £5 and so is the mouthwash, but the mouthwash is concentrated so you have to dilute it with water 50/50 so the bottle lasts for ages.

Going to have to go and buy a new tube of toothpaste now!

The toothpaste I generally use is Sensodyne gentle whitening. This doesnt have SLS but surprisingly most of their other toothpastes do
But the best thing about it, for me anyways, is it almost alawys on BOGOF from savers or superdrug, or the supermarket.

I am really looking forward to trying things from greenpeople
