  • I've recently started to use the new Naked body wash range, I love their starflower bodywash and their Shine shampoo is fab too. Their products are SLS-Free and also free of parabens, and petrochemicals. You can find out more here www.nakedbodycare.co.uk and you can buy them from boots.
  • I agree with Dr. Bronners - also a company called urtekram seem pretty good - and they do a good range of toothpastes as well

    I can second Green People and Faith In Nature - also worth looking at are;

Duchy range (as in Prince Charles) - Ocado/Waitrose,
Eco Cosmetics (my favourite as it is almost scent free, and best for hubby's delicate skin - even the other eco-brands can dry it out) - Spirit of Nature, and some independant chemists
and for kids, Halos And Horns (Tesco, Superdrug etc).

If you shop directly with Green People, they do a commission system where you get an amount of your next order based on the value of this, they also do regular offers (free delivery, bogofs etc - also free delivery on first order), and don't forget to go through Quidco.

Hi, just a side note for anyone reading these posts - I recently took over a small shop selling natural skin care products and regularly surf the net looking for new suppliers etc - one of the things I have discovered is that more firms/makers are getting more aware of the things people are looking for in soaps, shampoos etc - mainly SLS and Parabens. Some of the research into ingredients (mainly using wikipedia) that I have done (am by no means an expert) has shown that some things are being marketed as SLS/Paraben free but then contain in the case of -

SLS - basically the same ingredient under a different name
Parabens - it is paraben free but contains one or more ingredients banned in products with long term contact to the skin (ie makeup)

Would agree about Green People, Faith in Nature, Urtekram, Weleda and also a firm called Pure Nuff Stuff (they are on the web and are one of the few who don't contain coconut by products).

Probably the best way to be sure is to sit down with an ingredient list and do some research.

You also need to be careful about labelling and advertising which I often think work on the same principles as small print - some things labelled organic may only have a couple of organic ingredients in quite a long ingredient list and if push came to shove just because something is labelled 'organic' doesn't mean it can't also contain a cocktail of chemicals.

I have also used and really liked Pure Nuff Stuff shower gel and shampoo and also quite a few products from Green People. G People were ultra fast with sending my Christmas delivery - got confirmation that it was on its way about 2 hours after ordering online -and when i emailed them to say thanks, i got a lovely email back saying thanks. I liked that sport-smiley-001.gif

I've been using Neem stuff for ages now, including toothpaste.
It's brilliant and is absolutely SLS free.
As the person I get it from doesn't sell on a large scale I'm reluctant to pass on who it is, but is certainly worth a go.
Doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg either!!

I like Weleda products - but use Tom's Toothpaste on occasions - I do suffer with mouth ulcers though - I just put it down to being run down but maybe it is a reaction to SLS's? How did you diagnose that ems2?

this range is SLS and other chemicals free. It works really well for my daughter and smells nice. I know its childish in design but the smells are lovely and if it works for you who cares??!!! :D
I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them but they were only satellites
Is it wrong to wish on space hardware
    I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care
  • I am waiting to see if I win the Suma competition on the other board so I can restock with Faith in Nature and Green People. Have used both for a while now and found them to be excellent quality.
