Your holiday to Cyprus sounds lovely and great idea to book the airport hotel and parking.
The m & s dine in deals are a favourite treat here too

I had a takeaway for the first time for about 4 years yesterday evening. The pizza was tasty enough bit certainly not worth how much paid! I will not be doing that again! :/

For comparison as a little treat for my elderly relative today I have just bought an M&S dine in for two. A main, side and dessert for two, for exactly half the price of the Pizza! :)

Successfully returned the jumper and went for the refund instead of the exchange, so that's £24 handing back to the clothing pot.  :)
We don’t eat out often, if you can cook to a reasonable standard eating out is a real disappointment. It’s just so expensive for what you get. I do think we cook from scratch much more than most, which can make a huge difference to costs.
River Cottage Family Cookbook has a good basic pizza recipe. I have found HFW’s books are usually good.

I have a number of watches and to save batteries just pull out the little thingy on the side
  • On the subject of new glasses......I have varifocals and quite a strong prescription so high index lenses are a must for me. May I recommend Asda where these lenses are included as standard and not the ridiculously high prices some charge. I got two pairs for £120. Some charge more than than for one pair of lenses.
  • You made me laugh about the wrist watches.  I have quite a few too, but when I retired I stopped wearing them!

I am already booked in at Boots. Been going there for years and happy with the service.

I wouldn't feel dressed without a wrist watch. I am very much a to time person lol. My personality weakness maybe. I always divide things into time chunks, even now when retired. I don't really do spontaneous lol.

Well for me, Boots lenses alone for thinner varifocals are a minimum £120 a pair more than their standard offering. Could possibly be more depending on how thin the lenses go.

As I like to have two pairs that's £240 on top of the £70 a pair or so. Sadly my prescription means I either have bottle ends or have to pay for the thinner lenses so £120 for two pairs is an absolute bargain.

I honestly don't know how Asda do it.
